Part 14: Fatherly Instinct

(I'm sorry the media doesn't match the chapter at all, but I needed to put it in Hah)

(By the way Kieanna has light pink hair, and Niko has blond hair, and Kieanna looks like Lucy and Niko looks like Natsu, the only difference is Kieanna has Natsu's eye color and eye shape, and Niko has Lucy's eye color/ shape.. just thought you guys should know:))

Natsu's POV
I didn't want to say goodbye to Kieanna or Niko. I don't think any parent would want to have to say goodbye to their kids.
But I knew damn well that in about five months, I would have to say the one word I really didn't want to.

'I just hope it's not the last thing I say to them,' I thought anxiously while Lucy slept beside me in all her glory.

Lucy moved around in her sleep, rolling over, pressing her warm body up against me.
I put my arm around her, feeling her soft skin.

"Pro..tect... the.. fu..ture," Lucy mumbled in her sleep.

The words struck a painful memory from when we had to deal with the whole Eclipse Project thing, I will never forget seeing Lucy lay there, dead. (Sorry for the spoiler 😁)

Remembering that only made me hold Lucy tighter, 'I'm not letting her go again,' I thought, pressing my lips against her smooth forehead.

"Don't worry, I will protect the future, just like I promised," I said quietly.

'I will protect your future, and our kids' future,' I thought, protectively.

I could hear Kieanna and Niko sleeping in the other room, it was nice to hear their soft, calm, breaths.
I closed my eyes and just listened to all the little quiet sounds before I fell into a deep sleep.

"Hello? Is anyone here?!" I yelled, but got no response.

I kept yelling, but no one ever answered, so I decided to walk around, thinking someone may be off in the distance.

I walked around in the dark cold forest for what seemed like forever, "dammit, where is everyone?" I growled, trying to listen and smell to see if I could pick up a trace of anyone nearby.

I gasped when I heard something, not too far away.
I started running towards it, but stopped when I found out where the sound has led me.

The graveyard.

I looked around and saw two people, a boy and a girl, they were sitting in front of a gravestone, leaning on each other, crying.

I ran over to them, and tried to ask them what was wrong, but they didn't answer.

After trying over and over to get them to say something I finally tried shaking one of them.
But when I touched them, my hand slid right through them.
"What the hell?" I asked, trying more violently to grab ahold of them.

"That won't work," said a voice from behind me. I looked at the man who was talking to me, "hey, who are you?! And what the hell is going on?!" I asked still squatting next to the crying kids.

The man said nothing, just stared at me with a blank emotionless face.
I got angry and ignited one of my fists on fire, "tell me! What is going on!" I yelled viciously.

The man looked intently at the cloaked little kids who were sitting beside me, still crying.

"Huh?" I gasped when I saw a bit of pink hair peaking from under one of the cloaks.

I looked back up at the man, but he was gone.
I leaned down and tried to get a look at what these two kids looked like, and when I leaned down in front of their faces my eyes nearly exploded.

I saw a little boy with blond hair, and big brown eyes, and a little girl with pink hair and big eyes that were the exact same color as mine.
"No way," I whispered, "K-Kieanna? N-Niko?" I asked, but of course didn't get any response.
I looked at the grave stone they were crying over, and almost passed out when I read the names that were written on it.
(End of Natsu's Dream)

Natsu's POV
I gasped, sitting up in bed. Looking around, I saw it was still the middle of the night, and Lucy was still sleeping, along with Niko and Kieanna.

Sweat beads were formed all over me.
I rubbed my forehead, 'it was just a dream,' I assured myself.

But I still felt shaken up, so I walked into the twins room, and rocked their crib for a bit.
I didn't know why I came into Kieanna and Nikos room, I guess I just felt like I needed to protect them, a 'fatherly instinct,' I guess.

I put my chin on the edge of their crib, 'they really do look like Lucy and I,' I thought.

????? POV
A tear fell from my eye as I read the book of Natsu Dragneels Life.

Up here in Destinies Library every person in Earthland has a Book Of Life, it tells their destinies, their past, present and future.

I was just lucky enough to get my hands on Natsu's book.
But I almost regret reading it because it's not the life that Natsu had wanted.
I remember he used to tell me what he wanted his entire life like when he was a kid, and this was nothing like it.

I yelled, "dammit!" Before throwing the book to the wall and standing up, "thats not going to happen!" I yelled.

"Please, calm down," she said from behind me.
I turned around at glared at her, "I can't! It's not supposed to end that way for him!" I yelled.

A tear fell from her eye, "I don't like the way Lucy's book goes either! But there's nothing we can do about it!" She yelled.
I felt my facial expressions soften.
She hung her head and whispered in a cracked voice, "you just have to except their destinies."

She turned around and walked away in silence.
Just before she disappeared she turned her semi-tear-stained face toward me and whispered, "you can't rewrite fate."

She dissolved into thin air, and left me there, standing in a dark room shaking from rage.

"I swear," I whispered, "I won't let it end like that!" I yelled.

(5 year old) Sarhores POV
"One day I'm going to join the Fairy Tail guild, papa!" I cheered happily.

Papa laughed and tucked me into bed, "okay son, but right now you must sleep," he said.

I pouted, but obeyed him, "will you sing me one of mamas old lullaby's?" I asked.

Papa winced at mention of my dead mom, but nodded his head.
I smiled, "thank you papa!"

As papa sang the old lullaby that my mom used to sing, I clutched the celestial keys that were handed down to me from my mother.

'Don't worry mama, I will join Fairy Tail, and I will be the best celestial wizard they have!' I thought while closing my eyes.

"Goodnight papa," I said through a yawn, 'goodnight mama,' I thought through inner grief.

"Goodnight Sahore," my father said as he kissed me on my forehead, and left my room.

I smiled before I fell into a dreamless sleep, just like always.

Well, done that!
I'm sorry that chapter was boring and completely useless, well maybe not completely.

Btw Sahore is an important character for this book, don't forget him!
