Chapter 91 | Unexpected Meetup

Ru Qin was busy doing his work as he sighed and stretched his arms out of tiredness. He was still working in the palace but had not met Wang Lei even once...deep down he already had given up on Wang Lei. He had realised how much he wanted Wang Lei back in his life...Wang Lei had moved on. Their feeling was not mutual anymore but he still decided to stay at the palace to keep working near him. He was feeling guilty and regretful for his actions towards him and he wanted to show his reformed self. He wanted to prove to Wang Lei that he was not a terrible person. He wanted to be here for Wang Lei and helped him if he ever needed somewhere in his life.

Ru Qin closed away the file he was working on and looked up outside of his window when his gaze fell on a familiar face. Ru Qin was appalled and froze in his place as he slowly stood up. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he was looking at the right person and it was indeed him...the person he never imagined seeing in the palace....and also a person he never wanted to see ever again in his life.

Ru Qin quickly walked out of his office chamber and walked towards that person who was standing performing his duties on a guard station. Ru Qin felt his heart rapidly was beating inside his chest as his feet stomped toward that person and stopped in front of him. Slowly, Yichen's eyes flew up toward the person who was standing in front of him and upon seeing Ru Qin his eyes widened with shock.

'What are you doing here?' They both asked in reunion to each other stunned.

'I should be one asking that from you? Yichen asked as he was more astonished upon seeing Ru Qin here. '...you betrayed his highness then how come you are here.'

'Well, he took me back.' Ru Qin simply explained which made Yichen even more confused.

'What? Are you his lover again?' Yichen asked baffled about the whole situation.

'No, not as a lover. I just work for him.' Ru Qin cleared his misunderstanding as he sadly sighed

'Make sense...It seems like that other guy seems to like his lover.' Yichen said as he remembered Huang Dewei and Ru Qin just painfully nodded his head

'But I am surprised to see you here as well.'

'Well, it turns out his highness' heart is soft and kind. He saw his father abusing him and he decided to save me. I work as a guard under him now.' Yichen explained about his situation

'You should leave from here. you know that is not right.' Ru QIn whispered told him while Yichen was looking at him.

'But I don't want to leave. First time in my life, I felt like a human. I might earn less but I probably will get some respect in return now.' Yichen replied telling him his intention of not leaving and Ru Qin felt anger inside him because of what Yichen was hiding inside him, Wang Lei found out, they all will be in trouble and most importantly Wang Lei will be heartbroken beyond repair.

'That is not fair. You should not be here.' Ru Qin said as his eyes were filled with rage this time.

'How that is not fair. Do you have any idea what kind of humiliating life I had been leading till now?' Yichen whispered screaming angrily controlling his tone not to go high but his eyes were clearly showing fury inside them.

'Well, you choose that life.' Ru Qin simply gave him an answer and Yichen angrily clenched his fist upon his heartless response.

'I never choose that life...I was too poor to have any choice and back then I was too young. I thought becoming a sex toy for rich people will make my life easy without realising which kind of monsters I will come across.' Yichen replied bitterly and Ru Qin stares at him and then sighed as he felt pity and sympathy for him. They both made bad choices to come out of poverty and they both regretted them now in their own way. Ru Qin regretted losing Wang Lei while Yichen regretted losing his respect and pride as a human.
