The plan

"It means that we are gonna have fun hook up with some people or each other. Even though the last part is not gonna happen cause you are wifed up Caro.", Daniel explained. "Hey I am not wifed up!" I exclaimed. "We'll just about.", Daniel said. "No. We are just dating.", I was stubborn. "Let's keep it real here. George worships the ground you walk on. I have never seen or heard him do anything that could hurt you. His world revolves around you.", Daniel was very excited. "If you knew...", I sighed. "Wait what happened?", the Aussie looked genuinely concerned. "Nothing it's just that what you said may have been true for last year but this year I am not too sure. But let's not talk about it we're fine but please don't say wifed up ever again.", I explained.
Max was eerily quiet during this conversation. "So are we gonna go out tonight?", Daniel asked. "I don't think I am ready for that tonight but let's go in the next few days.", I suggested. "Deal", Daniel said.

We hung around Daniel's apartment for some more hours but it was getting late and I did want to sleep in my own bed for a change. "Ok I will go home now because I am tired. ", I yawned. "I can drive you. I'm tired as well.", Max offered. "Ok grandpa and grandma. I will let you leave and get your beauty sleep even though Max definitely needs it more than Caro.", Daniel joked. "Thanks for having me.", I said before walking out the door. "Your always welcome.", Daniel hugged me. "Bye mate.", Max said and the boys hugged. 

Max then drove me home and we talked a bit more. "Thank you for telling me. It means a lot to me that you trust me.", I told him. "Thank you for being so nice about it", he spoke softly. "Thanks for the ride and I guess we'll see each other soon.", I said while getting out of the car.  "Every time.", he dropped me off and drove away. 

Back in my flat I felt drained. Stoffel wasn't home as he had some races and it just didn't make sense for him to come back to Monaco. But even if he was home he spent most of his time at Anna's place. I don't mind it but sometimes it would be nice if I wasn't home alone. The flat was a bit big for a single person. I decided to call George and see if he was still up. I tried to ring him but no luck but I guess seeing as it was 2 a.m. in England I shouldn't wonder.  I went to sleep right after that.

I was woken up to the sound of my phone. I looked at the screen and saw George was calling.

C: "Good morning", I croaked.  I heard him chuckle. 
G: "Did I wake you?"
C: "Yeah but don't worry. It's nice to hear your voice."
G: "love to hear that. I wanted to call you to see if you already checked if you can come to England?"
C: "Actually I didn't yet but I will check it out right now. I'll put you on speaker."
G: "Great."
C: "So I could get a flight the day after tomorrow and come to Kings Lynne or we could alway meet up in London?"
G: "Sounds great. Maybe we should do London. I want you to myself. And if we stay at my family home that's not gonna happen."
I had to chuckle and roll my eyes at that.
C: "Ok so I will come and you organise where we stay in London. "
G: "Of course. Lin?"
C: "Yes George?"
G: "I know I sucked these last weeks and I really want to make it up to you. I'll make this the best few days we ever spent together."
C: "George I told you you don't need to worry about that anymore. And I'm looking forward to it."
G: "So what are you doing till you get here?"
C: "Meet up with Danny and Max to go out and chill I guess."
G: "How did you get yourself into going out with Danny Ric?", he chuckled.
C: "Don't even ask. But I'm actually looking forward to it. I guess it's gonna be good fun seeing as those two know how to party."
G: "They're your best friends in the grid right?l
C: "Yes straight after you, Alex and Lando."
G: "I feel really stupid for being jealous now that I think about it."
C: "Stop it. I can forget about it now that you've realised that it was unnecessary to begin with."
G: "Alright. I'll stop it. I'll get us a nice place to stay and it will have everything you love."
C: "Oh everything I love? Sounds too good to be true."
George and I stayed on the phone for an hour more or so. I booked my flight and informed Sofie about my whereabouts in the next few days. I didn't have anything coming up in my schedule apart from training which I could do everywhere.  Later that day I spoke to Daniel about going out that night. He agreed and took on the role of convincing Max to go out with us.
I spent the rest of my day taking photos for my Instagram.  And I ended up hating all of them.
I got ready for going out and took a cab to Daniel's as I didn't want to be recognised in the streets of Monaco.

I arrived at Daniel's and walked up to his flat. I was genuinely excited to go out with Max and Daniel but also felt my anxiety creep in. Last time we were out together it wasn't the best time to put it nicely. 
"Carolin come in. We can start drinking!", Daniel was cheery as ever.
"Is Max already here?", I asked while taking off my shoes. "Yes he is.", I heard Max' voice in the living room.
I walked into the living room and saw Max sitting there with something that looked like a vodka bull. Figures.
"So what do you wanna drink?", Daniel asked. "Just give me anything. Apart from Vodka Bull. That stuff tastes ridiculous.", I smiled at them.
"Something that's not Vodka Bull coming right up!", Daniel exclaimed and went to his kitchen island. "So where are we gonna go?", I asked. "Let Us handle this. You've never been out in Monaco so we're gonna show you a good time. ", Daniel called from the island. "Oh this is not gonna end well,", Max cackled. "Are you really leaving tomorrow?", Daniel asked while giving me my drink. "No not tomorrow the day after. I have tomorrow to recover.", I explained. "You're gonna need that.", Max smiled.
Oh boy what did I get myself into.
