Game night

"So why again must Max come?", George asked while hugging me from the back. "Because he is my friend and he isn't feeling all too great.", I explained.  I knew George wouldn't love Max joining us but I didn't think it would be a huge problem. "Doesn't he have other friends? He made you feel terrible.", he said while nuzzling his head in the crook of my neck. "George...", I knew he wasn't trying to be difficult but this behaviour annoyed me. "I'm sorry. You're just a saint.", George mumbled. "I hope you can overlook your jealousy when he gets here because there is no reason to be.", I said and stepped out of the hug. George knew I was annoyed with him and knew best to not argue now.

"I'm here the fun can start!", Lando shouted when he opened the door. "Why do you have to be so loud all the time?", I rolled my eyes and pulled him into a hug. "To compensate my height.", he joked.  "Hi Alex.", I said and hugged the other boy standing in our doorway. "Hi is George here already?", he asked and I nodded. Alex left to look for George and Lando stayed with me. "Trouble in paradise?", Lando asked. "I don't know. The last few weeks it's been different. He's annoyed that I invited Max and I am annoyed that he is annoyed.", I huffed. "Ah don't worry. It's George he is just jealous. He always has been and always will be.",Lando said and bumped hi shoulder into mine.

Alex and George were talking in hushed voices and stopped as soon as Lando and I stepped into the he room. "What are you two so secretive about?", Lando asked them. "Nothing.", George answered way too fast. I rolled my eyes feeling myself grow more and more irritated. "I have some bowls please put in some of the snacks. I need to use the bathroom and please let Max in when he arrives.", I said and locked myself in the bathroom.
I stood in front of the mirror, hands gripping the sink and trying to breath the irritation away. Why was he behaving like this now?
I spritzed my face with a few droplets of water and heard someone knock on the door.
"Can I come in?", I opened the door for him.
I just stood there and looked at him. He did look sheepish and embarrassed. "I'm sorry.", he whispered. I just looked at him and crossed my arms in front of my chest. "I'm sorry ok? I got jealous. I don't know why I was like that", he stepped closer and closer to me until he finally stood so close that I had to look up. "I just wanted to spend a nice evening with you. Not compete for attention with Verstappen.", he said. "George are you stupid or something? Why would you compete? I am in love with you!", I was frustrated. "Wait what?", he was confused now. And than I noticed what I said. "I am in love with you. But you make it really hard as of right now.", I admitted. George broke out in a big grin. "I am in love with you too. Utterly and completely. I am just so scared to loose you.", he said and intertwined our fingers. "You won't loose me. I need to drill that into your thick skull. I swear you're usually not stupid but whenever it's about us you turn into an idiot.", I said. He chuckled. "Yes that might be true..", I looked up into his eyes. Pools of blue and specs of green. A sight I could look at the whole day. "Carolin Zwesper I love you.", he whispered and kissed me. His lips were soft against mine and I could feel his love just ooze. "George Russell. I love you.", I kissed him again with a bit more force this time.

"Finally. Did you do the dirty in the bathroom or something?", Lando exclaimed when we got out of the bathroom. I scrunched up my face at that. "No we actually fought.", George told him. "But it's all good now.", I didn't want to discuss this with Lando as he is a pain in the ass when it comes to mine and George's relationship. I looked around the room and saw that Max was not there yet. "Max texted me that he is gonna be 5 minutes late because he had some meeting.", Alex said seeing my searching look. "Alright. Do you wanna pick some games we can play? I'm gonna order some room service for some normal snacks as Lando only brought his faves.", I said and walked over to the telephone.

I heard the boys bicker over what game to play while I ordered some popcorn and peanuts.  I got a text just as I finished ordering.
I think I am in front of the door ~ Max
I put my phone into my pocket and walked over to the door.
"Yes you are!", I said and hugged him. "Thank you for inviting me. I'm sorry for being late.", he apologised. "No worries. We haven't started anyways.", I let him into the room. "Boys Max is here. ", I called and they all greeted him.
George didn't look elated but at least he was friendly with him. 
"Thanks for letting me be part of the game night.", Max said. "Sure I need someone that helps me beat those suckers.", Lando said. "Did you even decide on a game yet?", I asked and cocked your my eyebrow. "Yes we are playing monopoly.", Alex announced. "This is a bad idea but whatever floats your boat.", I sang. 
Whenever we play monopoly we fought. It could potentially get ugly as Lando and I are both sore losers when it comes to monopoly. "Be aware Max those two fight like crazy.", Alex warned him and chuckled. George was just sitting there minding his own business. "Don't scare him away!", I scolded Alex and set up the game.
Room service knocked on my door and George got it for me.  He was particularly quite but I guess that better than him starting fights. "Ok let's start and don't get upset if I win.", Lando announced and we decided who's gonna start.

We've been playing for an hour or so when the awkward atmosphere subsided. George warmed up to Max and I finally felt like I could enjoy my evening with my friends.  We shared some laughs and Lando and I didn't even fight. "Take that Linny!", he exclaimed. "Lando you do know that I just landed on my own field but you my friend also landed on mine. If you'd be so kind: 1000$.", I was smug.  Everyone apart from Lando laughed and he just looked like a small child throwing a tantrum. With this round the game concluded.
"So what's next?", George asked throwing his arm around me. "I think bedtime as we have a Grand Prix tomorrow.", I said and leaned into him. "A you're a bore. Maybe if you and Max are really tired the rest of us have a chance to do better.", Alex concluded. "Yeah I don't think Helmut would let me live. Max for sure but me no chance in hell.", I chuckled. "Ah Helmut is actually nice if you get to know him.", Max tried. "Helmut is nice to you and that's about it. He hates everyone basically and he just about tolerates me, Alex and Pierre.", I stated matter of factly. "Helmut is scary.", Lando said into the silence. "I agree.", I whispered and made everyone chuckle.

The boys left apart from George. "It was a nice evening.", I said and hugged George. "Yes it was. You were really into monopoly.", he smiled down at me. "It's monopoly get used to it lover boy.", I smiled.
"Are you gonna stay or leave too?", I asked him still in his arms. "Stay if I am welcome.", he spoke softly and brushed away a strand of hair. "You are always welcome.", I whispered and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. "That was a lame excuse of a kiss.", George said and kissed my lips.

We got ready for bed and I fell asleep content that George and I are good again.
