OOC- Out of Character

Hey, everyone!

Thank you all so much for reading and liking my stories! I also love the occasional comments.

A realization occured to me the other day about fanfics... Reading fanfics isn't always just entertainment or imagining yourself in a story/movie/show.

It's comfort. In a way- it is a coping mechanism (..is it healthy? Idk).

When you search up specific fanfiction ideas with your favorite character (in this case, Snape) it isn't just about the story or the words. In a way, it's a source of comfort. Maybe because that topic that you searched up- you may be experiencing it in real life and unfortunately, not getting the right help with said topic..

If you were to search up "Snape x reader depression", it's likely that a whole lot of stories will come up. But take the time to ask yourself, why you search it up. Is it because you intentionally want to read only angst? Maybe. But not really.

You are imagining that your favorite character is helping you. But in their specific way. Severus Snape wouldn't be all rainbows and cuddles! But he would be blunt, he would be resourceful, and he would be motivating- because of all of the stuff that he went through as well. It's possible that nobody is providing you those words of encouragement in real life. And if you read these, that is okay!

Sometimes we need to take a moment to think about; "What would ____ do?"

It wouldn't have to be; "What would Jesus do?" It could be "What would Mr. Rogers say? What would he do to help right now?"-

Robin Williams, Dolly Parton, Tupac, Alan Rickman, Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, Sirius Black, Severus Snape! Anyone!

But unfortunately sometimes those helpful words are not said in real life, or at least not enough.

But that's what I am here for!

It is okay to read these, and I really hope you do! When I write these stories, to me, it isn't just entertainment! It's healing and encouragement to carry on in this fucked up road called life.

Using Severus Snape's characteristics and mannerisms (even if they're a little OOC) to build stories for people to read is what I am passionate in.

This is partly why I ask for recommendations. It's being able to contort your struggles, thoughts, ideas, creations- whatever!- into stories. So they can help you, the reader. (I will write anything except smut, even if it has to correlate around traumatic experiences)

I try not to be specific in info such as my age and my location- but will I talk about other things? Yes!

When I write these stories (Especially the panic attack ones), I, in a way, wrote it for myself. I've had panic/anxiety attacks at school and I have a shit ton of other issues.

I have a chronic pain disorder (called EDS),
Sensory-Processing-Disorder, general anxiety, and depression.

I don't say this to make you feel worse about yourself if you have only one type of struggle- but rather, any type of struggle is welcome and embraced here. It deserves attention. Attention as in- Severus Snape is pissed off by your presence but literally couldn't get enough of you.

So please, do the following;

1. Read all of my imagines that suit your personal fandoms
2. Don't forget to like & share
3. Criticise me! What could I have done better?
4. What are your suggestions? They don't have to be personal, but they can be. But most of all, you are not required to tell me if you do struggle with them.

Just know that you are not alone!

My DM'S are always open and I am here, even if you just need to quickly vent!

With so much love,
Phoenix <3
