leo loved ice skating. every time it hit lower than 20° (-7°c) he was trying to find a frozen pond or ice rink. finn always tagged along when leo would skate on the pond. he'd tell leo it was for safety, for if the ice wasn't as frozen as he thought it was, but really he liked seeing leo skating around the ice with ease.
today it had been snowing for the passed week. needless to say leo was itching to get out on the ice. today they were just cuddling and watching movies with some soup and hot chocolate when the brunette looked up to finn.
"wanna come with me to the pond?" the blond smiled and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"sure." they both sat up and ran upstairs to put on their snow suits and snow boots. finn got them beanies and gloves while leo got his ice skates from the back of the closet. god was he so excited to see them.
"ready to go?" finn asked while pulling the light blue beanie over the chocolate hair, letting a little bit of his hair stick out.
"yup." leo smiled, lifting onto his tippy toes to kiss finn's lips. they made their way downstairs and out to the pond. leo practically ran over to the bench and began slipping on his skates. it was somewhat annoying to put the skates on with the snowsuit but finn insisted that he wore the snowsuit instead of sweats so he wouldn't get too cold.
"be careful." finn cooed, grabbing his hand before he could walk away.
"i will." leo said while kissing his lips softly. he ran off to the ice and carefully slide onto the ice. finn watched with a small grin on his face.
"you know we should get you some skates." leo shouted from the pond.
"maybe not." finn laughed while walking towards the pond. leo skated over and stopped infront of him, holding his hand out for the blond.
"why not?" leo whined, pulling finn onto the ice.
"because i can barely..." he said while wobbling on the ice.
"stand on the ice now." he continued after catching his balance. leo let go of the blond and spun around the pond before speaking.
"i could teach you!" leo said excitedly.
"we could even get you one of those balancing thingys skating rinks have for kids." finn crossed his arms at this and turned to walk off the ice.
"that's not funny." he grumbled, standing on the snow by the pond.
"you know i'm just joking baby." leo said with a giggle, leaning forwards to kiss his cheek. finn watched as he easily glides across the ice, how he didn't wobble a single time.
"we could be a cute ice skating couple." leo said while skating back to finn.
"maybe." he hummed, resting his warm gloves against the brunettes bright red cheeks.
"are you cold? should we go get some hot chocolate?" leo shook his head while skating away from finn.
"not yet." he said, watching finn walk back to the bench. it was twenty minutes before finn decided to bring leo some hot chocolate. he knew the brunette hadn't been on the ice in awhile but he always wasn't going to let him freeze to death.
"thank you." leo cooed, taking a sip from the cup before handing it back.
"i put the soup on the warmer, figured you'd want some when we went back inside." leo gave a thumbs up and smile.
"you are the bestest." another fifteen minutes went by before leo decided they should head back inside. he slipped back on his snow boats, as well as slipping the guards over his blades.
when they got inside they stripped from their snow gear at the door and slipped back on their matching onesies, leo going to sit in front of the fire place and finn going to get them some soup.
"can we watch home alone?" leo asked while standing from the floor, sitting on the couch.
"sure." finn said with a smile, handing him a cup and a bowl.
"not hot chocolate this time, it's tea.... figured you'd get sick of it." leo smiled and poked his lips out.
"i could never get sick of hot chocolate." finn went back to the kitchen to get his own mug and bowl before sitting with leo, pulling the blanket over his lap.
"thanks baby." leo pressed a kiss to finns cheek as a special thank you. after they warmed up they stayed cuddled on the couch, wrapped in blankets.
"we should put up our tree." leo said excitedly, lifting from the blonds chest.
"it's november." finn said dryly.
"yeah but it's almost thanksgiving which means it's almost december which means we can put up the tree." finn laughed at the rambling brunette.
"i hear you baby." he cooed, pulling the brunette to his lips for a kiss.
