I waved my hand as soon as Jasper's car left, the smile on my face faded and heaved a deep sigh. It's been two weeks since we started going out and all I can say is that he's really a big help as a distraction. I already asked him about Irene and he told me that they are just hanging out like what we are doing. If Irene was lying about him courting her? Well, that is not my problem anymore, Honestly, I just want someone to distract me.

"You are late again." Kate spoke while opening the front gate. She was wearing a strapless floral dress, hair in a messy ponytail  at mukhang kakagising lang.

"Date." I shrugged and helped her open the other side of the gate. Tinignan ko pa ang oras and I arched my eyebrow at the time, it's already 10pm na pala. "Where are you going? Late na nga diba?" I mocked her.

"Carl had an emergency at his office and his mom need a companion, alam mo naman kung gaano ka overacting yun kapag magisa..." she said while checking her wheels.

My lips formed an "o" when I quickly realized what she meant. Well, her future mother-in-law really kind of dramatic and I don't know but Kate knows how to handle that. Kaya nga wala rin siyang problema pagdating dito, Parang alam niya lahat ng gagawin sa lahat ng bagay.

Admirable.

That's how my mom describes Kate.

and she always told me to be like her.

"Did you really came from a date?" she chuckled and glanced at my face down to my body. Napatingin din tuloy ako. I'm wearing a tube top partnered with a crop top brown blazer and fitted pants. Of course, I did! "Don't get me wrong ha? I mean you are pretty as always but your aura doesn't look happy at all."

"How can you say that? I am happy!" I told her and gave her a grin. "Now I don't know anymore if you calling me pretty is a compliment."

She chuckled and turned her full attention at me after she put her bag inside the car.

"It is a compliment." Kate's eyes softened when she stared at my eyes and I know exactly the reason why she's giving me that look. "My point is..." she walked towards me and stopped in front of me holding my shoulders in place. "If you're not ready to date then don't. Stop forcing yourself to feel okay."

She's pitying me.

"I am ready to date." I muttered and stared back at her eyes. Kate and I almost had the same features. I can see myself reflecting on her while I keep looking back at her lingering eyes. "Jasper is a good guy."

Kate didn't speak for a moment before tapping my shoulders and gave me a small smile.

"He's a good guy!" I told her again but she just waved her hand. "Oo nga kasi!"

"Okay, I believe you!"

My brow furrowed and stuck my tongue at her.

"Bleh! Oo na Miss Perfect!"

She laughed and shook her head before entering the car. Kumaway pa ako sakanya bago umalis. Kate and I are on good terms but of course we had our differences at hindi maiiwasan ang comparison saming dalawa. I was okay with what I had, sana. Unfortunately, people around us made me feel that my sister was better than me.
