"Hannie" Beomgyu called out to his twin and kicked the bottom of the top bunk, "are you asleep?"
"No. Why?" Beomhan put away a book he was reading in the dark with the help of the flashlight of his phone and peeked down at Beomgyu from the side.
"Would it be really impossible for people to differentiate us if we had the same hairstyle?" Beomgyu asked with his curious eyes looking back at him, long silky hair sprawled across his almost flat pillow and a ryan plushie tucked under his arm.
"We're identical, Gyu. Literally copied and pasted. Even the moles we have at different places don't help because they're not on our faces or anywhere too visible."
"But surely if they look close enough, they can tell our differences right?" Beomgyu blinked up at his older twin, "you have a broader frame and-"
"No one's going to look closely and waste their time to do that." Beomhan frowned down at his pretty twin.
"That's true... Would you ever grow your hair out though?"
"No. It's too hot and troublesome."
Beomgyu nodded his head in agreement, "but what if I cut my hair as short as yours?"
"Gyu" Beomhan sighed softly, "don't do that. Isn't your long hair part of your identity now? If you cut your hair, you'll lose your identity. People would think that you're me if we have the same short hair. I wouldn't like it if people mistook you as me, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it too."
Beomgyu nodded again and squeezed the Ryan plushie tightly. "You're right... Oh but Hannie, I didn't know Kang Taehyun, the valedictorian, was in your class. You've never mentioned him before."
"Why are you bringing him up? It's been 5 days since the graduation" Beomhan casted a suspicious look at him.
Quickly thinking of an excuse, the long haired twin shook his head, "no no, I'm just curious as to why you've never talked about him before. You told me everything about your class, every classmate you had interacted with before... But I've never heard about him."
Lying back down, Beomhan stared at the ceiling quietly before answering, "because I've never really interacted with him before. I dislike him. Not because he's the top student or because he excels in everything, okay, maybe it is one of the reasons, but it's also because he is dangerous."
"Dangerous? How so?" Beomgyu played with his plushie's ear, the image of Taehyun pointing to his chest resurfacing in his head.
"Listen carefully, Gyu. He acts like he knows it all, and is too perfect, too flawless. Impeccable manners, perfect grades, appropriate attitude towards everything and all situations, insane physical abilities and talents for art and music. The problem is that he doesn't seem to have a weakness, which is impossible because no one is perfect. And he's maintaining his perfection so well that it's frightening. He also has those eyes, you know, as if he's playing with you and the world is just his playroom. Those condescending eye smiles especially. You either play a losing game to fight him or get played by him. He's unapproachable in a sense. But he also acts nice and friendly to others, though his friendliness has boundaries to it. I just don't like him, Gyu. He sees everyone as his plaything, and only indulge when he finds fun in them. He's the worst type. Don't ever get close to someone like him. Often times they're just fooling around with you for their own entertainment. They're calculative and manipulative. And they believe the world is under their feet. What they're showing you on the surface is all fake. Trust me, my guts are always right. Kang Taehyun is not someone you should interact with. I'm honestly glad we had no interactions despite being in the same class, and I wish to keep it this way."
