Out of everyone who Taehyun could have chosen as his art model, why did it have to be Beomgyu? When Taehyun told him that he was interested his heart and mind, and would paint him black, Beomgyu couldn't quite decipher what that meant. Maybe it was a metaphorical phrase that Beomgyu had never heard about and never bothered to look it up. Maybe Taehyun was messing with him and was just speaking nonsense. Beomgyu would never understand. And he most definitely would never be able to understand Taehyun. He couldn't quite grasp his personality other than the fact that Taehyun seemed formidable and steady. It might be a little to early to say anything about him, but Beomgyu's impression of him kept changing every time they met.
Beomgyu had arrived 10 minutes late at Taehyun's residence, his bed hair untidied and eyes still half-closed despite having walked 8 minutes from the nearest bus stop.
What greeted him at the gate was Taehyun with the massive cat, Molecule, being cradled in his arms like an overgrown baby as he welcomed the half awake boy in.
"I'm sorry for being late..." Beomgyu spoke quietly and slowly, half opened eyes staring at the huge feline in Taehyun's arms.
"It's fine" Taehyun spoke calmly, sharp eyes scrutinising Beomgyu up and down without shame, "you look very delightful today."
The long haired boy blinked at him, confused eyes slightly widening as he watched Taehyun turned his back to him before walking back indoors.
"What? Delightful? What does that even mean?" Beomgyu followed after him, hands itching to give Molecule some pats along the way into the house.
"What do you think it means?" Taehyun redirected the question back at him, suddenly grabbing his wrist, giving Beomgyu the shock of his life and causing him to let out an embarrassing yelp as he held up his other hand in defense as a reflex.
Upon seeing Beomgyu's amusing reaction, Taehyun let a smirk form on his lips before placing the now ashamed boy's hand onto Molecule's soft fluffy fur.
Feeling the fine soft fur under his palm, Beomgyu melted almost immediately and began to stroke Molecule gently, the question of the word "delightful" long forgotten.
Giving the cat an involuntary pout and needy eyes, Beomgyu wondered how it would feel like to cuddle him to sleep. It must feel so good, and Molecule is just the right size for a good animal cuddling partner.
"Do you want to carry him?" Taehyun suggested, having noticed Beomgyu's yearning eyes.
"Yes ple- wait, how do I hold him?" Beomgyu frowned unsurely as he tilted his head to ask in a quiet and soft voice.
Taehyun could hear uncertainty and lack of confidence through Beomgyu's tone. Rather than feeling sorry for Beomgyu, Taehyun only felt even more inclined to dig up more about Beomgyu. And what were his intentions for doing so? Only Taehyun and people who truly knew him would know.
"Hold your arms out" Taehyun instructed as he slowly placed the docile cat onto Beomgyu's stretched arms, "left arm underneath his shoulders, right hand on his feet area.
Beomgyu bit down on his lower lip with brows knitted together. He carefully held Molecule, his awkward movements and stiff body making it obvious that he still felt unconfident and hesitant about holding the huge cat.
