"Have a good day at work today."

"Thank you... but why are you staring at me like that...?"

"I'm worried."

Beomgyu blinked confusedly at Taehyun with a tilt of his head, the soft strands of his long hair falling in gentle waves, catching the light shining through the windshield and framing his features perfectly, accentuating his already captivating appearance with a touch of graceful charm despite his puzzlement.

"This is exactly why" Taehyun muttered under his breath before brushing the topic off quickly, "come here."

Leaning over to the driver's seat, Beomgyu was met with a soft quick kiss on the lips, a gentle brush that lasted only a moment.

It was tender and light, leaving behind a fleeting warmth as Taehyun gazed into his eyes with adoration and a hint of lingering uncertainty.

Beomgyu had learnt to read Taehyun's expressions better over the year, and he did not miss the way Taehyun's usual confidence faltered for even a split second.

He had a hunch for the reason behind such a behaviour but decided not to point it out or acknowledge it, instead allowing Taehyun to rub the back of his hand with his thumb, which Beomgyu had known that it was a way his boyfriend used to reassure himself.

They stayed just like that for a moment, letting silence take over them as Taehyun averted his eyes to the boring empty road before them, unsaid worries and burdens buried in the tense air around them.

"I should go" Beomgyu slipped his hand out of Taehyun's grasp and turned to push open the door.

"I'll come pick you up later."

The long haired boy made a noise of acknowledgment, not looking back as he crossed the road and disappeared around the corner.

It was never Beomgyu's intention to ignore what Taehyun was going through. He just didn't know how to approach the issue, and it seemed like Taehyun was unwilling to open up to him. It felt like it wasn't something he should get himself involved in.

He had constructed a million simulations in his head, and the most possible outcome he could come up with was Taehyun pushing him away and getting frustrated. It had happened once. That rainy day when Taehyun still tutored him, when his temper was short and became easily disturbed. And Beomgyu still had no idea what the reason was behind his restlessness.

If his solemn expression had shown as he entered the cafe, his coworkers had decided not to comment on it.

If Taehyun had his own uncertainties, then Beomgyu was allowed to have his own worries too.

Their relationship was built upon impulses and doubts, a fragile connection shaped by denials and emotional manipulations.

But Beomgyu still wanted Taehyun. He wanted to give them a chance. And he could only hope that Taehyun felt the same.

Beomgyu wasn't stupid. He knew the complications that their relationship would bring both to himself and to Taehyun. He knew that their social statuses didn't match, that there would be oppositions and obstacles.

He had yet to tell anyone about them. Not his parents, not his friends or coworkers, and most definitely not Beomhan. And he had no idea if he would ever be ready to tell anyone.
