Author's Note: Oh hey I'm alive! lmao sorry- also I wrote this like a year ago, so ignore the sloppy plot

"Oh my." He gaped. "You're so small."
She merely cowered in his hands.
"Are you scared? Don't be scared, love. I'm not gonna hurt you." he quickly reassured the girl.
"I want my mom!" she wailed.
"Where's your mum, sweetheart?" he asked gently.
Her eyes widened, and she pursued her lips shut.
"If I put you back on the ground, will you be able to find your mum?" he questioned.
            She nodded.
"Alright. Would you like anything to eat first? I saw you poking at crumbs earlier." he said.
She perked up at first, then grew apprehensive.
"You don't have to, lass. I understand that you must be scared out of your mind. I'll let you get back to your mum." He smiled warmly.
            "Wait!" she squeaked out, "Please?"
            "'Please' to food?" he queried.
            She nodded.
He grinned. "What would you like to eat, lass?"
            She didn't respond.
"Tiny sandwich perhaps? I can cut off a little piece of bread, cheese, and ham for you." he offered.
            She nodded curly.
"I'll get to work then," he said, sitting her down on the counter.
The sandwich was fairly easy to make. Using such small pieces was a little challenging, but he created it. The sandwich ended up being the full size of her face, but she managed to devour the whole thing anyway.
"If you're ever hungry, little one, then you can always come ask for food. I don't mind giving you or your mum some food." he assured her.
            "Th-thank you," she murmured.
"Do you and your mum both live in my home?" he asked.
            She hesitated before nodding.
"Where in my house do you live?" he inquired.
            She remained silent.
"I'm not gonna go destroy your home, love. I just want to know, so I can help preserve it and leave you gifts from time to time. I wasn't aware I had a family permanently living in my home until now." he explained.
            "Under the couch," she mumbled.
"Hmm. That's not a great spot, love. How about I make you guys a little home?" he offered.
            She gaped. "Really?"
"I don't see why not. I took woodshop in school." he said, "Here, let me get you back to your mum, and you can tell her the good news."
From there, he constructed a little wooden house. It was one and a half rooms. The main room was enough to put two, tiny beds. The half room acted as make-shift bathroom.
After he met her mother, he started to get close with their small family. They'd have movie nights, and he'd babysit the little girl when the mother needed a break. It felt kind of nice to be part of a family, and they appreciated the kindness he provided them.
