He wasn't entirely sure if the feeble weeping was a figment of his imagination or actually occurring. But after a quick peak under the shrub near the sidewalk, a human woman revealed that he wasn't imagining it.

He'd never seen a wild human before. Sure, you could find them at pet shops and restaurants, but never one just out in the open. It was a wonder no one had already gotten a hold of her.

She gasped at the sight of him. "Please!" she begged cryptically, scooting to the root of the bush.

"What's wrong, little one?" he asked.

"Please don't kill me," she whimpered.

He gently scooped the scared thing up into his hands. She moaned in pain and clutched at her leg. He finally noticed that it was bent and contorted.

She was supposed to be fortune cookie of sorts for a giant before he dropped her when his ex and her new boyfriend surprised him. The fall shattered her right leg in which she landed on. The man was so flustered that he forgot all about his "fortune cookie" as she desperately tried to hide underneath the shrub.

He gaped. "What happened to your leg?"

She merely broke out into more sobs.

"It's alright," he assured her, "I'll take you home, you poor, little thing."

          And so he did.

He attempted to feed her and give her water, but she refused it and would cry miserably if he touched her. She wouldn't even sleep for days. Then one day, all the exhaustion finally caught up to her and she slept. When she came to, she was curled up in his hands, and his thumb was rubbing her backside.

          "Yev!" the human exclaimed.

"Yes Quinn?" Yev peered away from his work to look at the human.

Quinn got up from the clunky, homemade wheelchair she sat in. The giant quickly offered her a finger to grab onto, but she ignored it. She merely just started walking on her own. Well, it was more of a limp. She would never walk properly again, but she didn't seem to mind as she strutted down the desk.

His eyes lit up, and he gasped. "Oh Quinn, you're walking on your own!"

          She grinned. "Tada!"

He carefully scooped her up into his hands, needing so desperately to hold her close.

"It's super fucking exhausting, and both my legs are sore from practicing earlier while you were gone, but I can do it!"

He couldn't help but chuckle. His joy outranked his disliking of her explicit vocabulary.

She smiled at his laughter, then her lip quivered and she started crying.

He grimaced. "Lass, what's wrong? Are you in pain?" he asked worriedly.

"No, these are just happy, emotional tears. Don't worry." She sniffled. "I should be dead. If not for the asshole at the restaurant, then by some asshole who would've found me. But it wasn't an asshole; it was you. And you took care of me despite how much of an annoyance I was. I made you wake up at like two in the morning because I need to pee, but you still kept taking care of me even though there was nothing in it for you. And at times like this, I realise I wouldn't be walking or even alive right now if it wasn't for you. I just love you so damn much." She broke out into more ugly tears.

He drew her close to his chest, almost suffocating her. She was the crier, not him. He couldn't let her see him shed a tear.

"I love you too, lass. More than you'll ever know. I'm so glad I found you." He sniffled.

"Are you crying?" she asked through her own tears.

          "Hush, or I'll eat you."
