A Poor Turn of Events

"Show me the fuckin' loot!!" Cinna was copying Blackbeard's interrogation method to the T. Successfully. His crew held back the other occupants of the ship they were raiding. The sailors met no harm, other than a good fright.

All on board were watching and listening as the captain of Hell's Ferry questioned the captain of The Prosperity. (The ship's name was an open invitation to pirates such as them, wasn't it?)

As Captain Andrews nervously told Cinna where to find what he was looking for, Olu and the others overheard Captain Andrews' men saying "Isn't this a poor turn of events? We avoided Barbados because The Revenge - Blackbeard's ship - was anchored offshore, just to end up being attacked by Captain Cinna and his crew."

"What's that?" Pete asked. "Captain, you should hear this."

"Go ahead. Tell the Captain  what you just said." Roach said to the captives.

"We..."

"What is it, man? Speak up." Cinna looked away from Captain Andrews but kept his  knife uncomfortably close to his face, showing no regard for the man's personal space.

"Go on. Tell him what you just said." Olu prompted.

"We, we just said we avoided a run-in with Blackbeard when we saw his ship anchored offshore, only to end up here. Being raided by you. The dread pirate captain Cinna."

"But where - tell him where you saw Blackbeard's ship" Buttons said.

Cinna started towards the nervous sailors, still holding his knife.

"Barbados. He was anchored off the coast of Barbados."

"Bar...That's, that's not possible." Cinna scoffed, annoyed. "Why would he possibly show up there?" He looked at his men. He looked at the crew of The Prosperity. He looked at the captain. "Is this true?" "Captain to captain?"

"You're looking for Blackbeard?"

"As a matter of fact, I am. I..."

Stones cut him off. "You needn't concern yourself with who Captain Cinna is looking for, or why. Just answer his question."Did you see The Revenge anchored off the coast of Barbados?"

Cinna remained silent, understanding that Stones had the situation well in hand.

"It's true. We were meant to stop there. Our voyage was supposed to be over. But when we saw The Revenge, well, only a fool would willingly go into a town that Blackbeard had staked out. We stayed at sea, deciding to go to Curaçao instead. But ended up getting attacked by you."

"Alright. Alright." Kirkland spoke up. "Take me to get the treasure you said was below deck." he said to Captain Andrews. "Is that your order, Captain Cinna?"

"Good man, Kirk. Yes." "Give us the treasure without a struggle and you're all free to go."

The captain and crew complied and were sent on their way, left with enough provisions and fresh water to make it to Curaçao. Cinna had spared their lives, unknowingly setting in motion the spread of a tale that would take on a life of it's own. Captain Andrews' crew would spread the news that the dread pirate captain Cinna was seeking Blackbeard, for a showdown. A showdown to prove who was the rightful ruler of the seven seas.
