Chapter 3

Itsumiko woke to the birds chirping. She rolled over and heard voices in the living room. She looked up to see her door was open. She got up and walked out.

"Kakashi, she's going to be late to find out who her sensei is," Hatsu said. Kakashi sighed.

"Hatsu, I understand. But, just give her a few more minutes," He said.

"Who's going to be late for what?" She asked in a tired voice. The two looked at her.

"You're going to be late to find out who your sensei is, now get dressed and hurry," She said and she turned Itsumiko around and back into her room. She rubbed her eyes and looked around her room. She was barely awake and had no idea what was going on. She managed to dress herself and brush her hair out. She walked back out into the living room and went to grab a cup of coffee but Hatsu grabbed her hand and pulled her out the door.

"Uh, Aunt Hatsu, you're going in the wrong direction of the academy," She said. Hatsu stopped pulling her and she stopped in the middle of the road. She looked around and finally realized she had no idea where she was going.

"I'll take the lead," Itsumiko said and started walking in the direction of the academy. Her aunt followed her up to the gate.

"I'm going to be leaving once I get back to the house. I just wanted to celebrate last night and see you off today," She said. Itsumiko nodded her head.

"Well, I was happy to see you again. Thanks for coming out," She said. Hatsu smiled at her and gave her a hug goodbye. She walked away and Itsumiko walked into the academy. When she entered, she saw everyone was there. She walked over and sat next to Sasuke.

"You're barely on time today," He said. She leaned back in her chair.

"Yeah, my aunt almost had a fit so she dragged me here half asleep," She said. Sasuke looked at her.

"Your aunt was here?" He asked her. She nodded her head.

"Yeah, she lives in the Sand. She used to come every holiday and birthday until my mom died and then she stopped coming. But when she heard about the graduation she came," She said.

"Your mom died?" He asked her. She looked at him.

"Really? Do you live under a rock?" She asked him. He looked at her with confusion.

"Do you remember hearing about that big mission two years ago that almost every shinobi went on? Well during that mission someone misjudged the scene and there was a huge casualty. One of those casualties being my mom," She said. Sasuke looked at her with soft eyes.

"I'm sorry that happened. I didn't realize," He said. She shook her head.

"It's fine," She said. They saw Iruka walk in and she was grateful at that point because then she didn't have to continue talking. He started assigning everyone teams.

"Team 7, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno," He said. Sakura groaned because she was with Naruto but excited because she was with Sasuke.

"And because there's an extra person, Itsumiko Hatake will be joining Team 7," He said. She sighed. She was with a knucklehead who charges in everywhere before thinking. A brooding teen who hates everyone and a fangirl that can't get over herself. She was doomed.

"Now that teams are assigned, you will wait here for your new Sensei to come and get you," He said and walked out. At that time the sensei's were showing up and taking their teams. Everyone was gone except Team 7. An hour had passed by and the four of them were all alone. Itsumiko had already figured out who their sensei was just by how late they were.
