They were going into the Forest of Death in the second part of the exam. Itsumiko had heard of this training ground. It was deadly and they were going to be locked in there. She wasn't paying attention and she noticed Anko behind Naruto. He had a cut on his face and was slightly bleeding.

"Way to creep everyone out Anko," Itsumiko said. She giggled and a Grass ninja was behind her holding her kunai out to Anko with her tongue. Itsumiko felt weird chakra coming from her. Anko took the kunai from her and thanked her. Itsumiko watched the Grass ninja walk away and then was pulled out of her thoughts again.

"Alright, listen up! Each team will get a scroll. Heaven or an Earth scroll. You will need to get both and make it to the center within three days. If you do not manage to find both of them, you lose. If you do not make it to the center within three days regardless of how many scrolls you have, you lose. If you open the scrolls before you are supposed to then you lose," Anko yelled out to everyone. She then started handing out forms.

"What are these for?" Naruto asked. Anko laughed.

"It's a consent form. So if you die, then me and the Leaf village won't be responsible," She said.

"Now, take your signed forms and head to the tent. They will give you a scroll and what gate number you will be at," Anko said. Team 7 walked to the tent. When they walked up, Anko stopped them.

"Itsumiko Hatake, you will perform the second exam on your own," She said. Naruto got upset with her and stepped forward.

"What that isn't fair! She's part of Team 7. Why does she have to do it alone?" He asked her.

"What isn't fair is that you have four on a team. Plus, I read the report. Itsumiko was thrown into this team last because there were an odd number of kids at the academy. So I make the rules on this one," Anko said. Itsumiko nodded at her team to go on. After they were done she went to the tent and got her scroll. She was given a Heaven's scroll and went to gate 11. She stood there by herself and just waited. She heard a gunshot go off and her gate opened up. She ran in and tried to stay quiet. If she couldn't be on the team during the exam, then she could just help out. It was a live or die situation for the rest of the exams so she figured she would take her chances.

She felt her team's chakra and started to head in their direction. They were pretty far out so she figured someone would be in her way for a few minutes. She heard bushes rustling so she hid behind a tree and concealed her chakra. She waited and heard the group talking.

"We need to find Sasuke Uchiha and Itsumiko Hatake. Lord Orochimaru gave us orders," The guy said. She looked from behind the tree to see the guy who attacked Kabuto. They were from the Hidden Sound Village. She furrowed her eyebrows and went back behind the tree. She needed to find her team now. She felt their chakra leave and she checked to make sure they were gone. She knew it wasn't a good idea to run out into the open even if she did have her chakra concealed so she ran around the open area. She felt her team was closer now and she saw they were getting attacked by Rain ninja. She ran up behind the clones and took them down.

"Itsumiko!" Naruto yelled from the ground. She shushed him and untied his hands.

"Really? First off, yelling is a bad idea. Second, how the hell did you get caught so fast?" She asked. She saw Sakura and Sasuke appear from the trees and stuck a kunai at her. She held her hands up.

"Woah guys, it's me," She said. Sasuke stuck the tip of his kunai under her chin.

"Yeah? Well I just saw someone transform into Naruto so you are going to have to do better than that," He said.

"Okay okay, let me reach for a kunai," She said. She reached into her pouch and grabbed a kunai. She held the blade to her arm.

"If I'm a clone, I will go poof," She said. She cut her arm and she bled.

"Now, if I'm someone who transformed then I shouldn't know that you and Naruto ki-" She was cut off by Sasuke lowering his kunai.

"Shut up Itsu," He said. She chuckled and stood up. They looked around each other to make sure no one was there.

"How did you find us?" Sakura asked her.

"It's not hard to track down people," She said.

"What scroll do you have?" Sasuke asked her. She looked at him.

"Well I'm not going to tell you that, you know, since we aren't technically on a team right now. Gotta pass the exam somehow," She said with a smirk.

"What are you, afraid that I'm gonna take your scroll?" He asked her.

"The exams change people, you can never be too careful," She said. He rolled his eyes and they started heading in the direction of the tower. They got past some trees and the wind started to pick up. Suddenly, a blast of air knocked Itsumiko away from her team. She tried to grab onto the trees and bushes but the wind was too strong. She hit a tree and the wind stopped. Her breath was knocked out of her and she fell to the ground. She looked around but didn't see anyone. She heard a rustling noise and she pulled a kunai out. The Grass ninja that was behind Anko walked out from the trees.

"Ah, Itsumiko Hatake. We finally meet at last," She said. Itsumiko had a hard glare on her face and stood.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" She asked. The ninja laughed and she saw her transform into a guy. He had long black hair and purple lines on his eyes.

"I am Orochimaru, and I keep tabs on up and coming ninja who seem like a good fit for my village," He said with a smirk on his face.

"I heard your henchman. What do you want with me?" She asked him. He chuckled and walked closer to her.

"I want to give you a gift," He said. She focused her chakra into her hand, forming the Chidori.

"Get away from me," She said and ran at him. She put her hand forward, but he dodged her at the last minute. She spun on her heel and faced him again. He grabbed her wrist tightly and formed a hand sign. Her chidori died down and she tried to pull her hand away from him but he held her tightly. She kicked her leg up and knocked him away from her. He charged at her with a kunai. He was fast and her eyes could barely keep up. She saw the hint of the blade and moved her arm up. He cut up her arm. Blood dripped down her arm. She winced and moved back. She was lucky she moved her arm in front of her face or else he would have got her eye. She heard him chuckle. She looked around but couldn't see him.

"My real body is currently with Sasuke. He seems to be handling his own as well. You both are prime candidates for my gift. But for you, I will give you something else," He said. Suddenly, snakes wrapped around her ankles and reached for her arms. She tried to move her arms but the snakes pried her arms open. He walked out of the bushes and walked up to her.

"Why? What are you going to do to me?" She asked him. He chuckled and she felt the tip of his kunai against the bottom of her left eye.

"I'm going to make you like your father. I don't exactly have the Sharingan and that's what Sasuke is for. But I do have something along that nature," He said. She could feel herself shake a bit. His chakra felt so... evil.

"You may want to brace yourself," He said. She then felt his kunai cut up her eye. She screamed at the burning white hot pain shooting through her. When the kunai got her eye, she started crying and felt the blood flow down her face. She let out another loud scream and felt herself start to lose consciousness. She felt him hold her up and after he was done, he picked her up and carried her. She succumbed to darkness and accepted her fate.
