Itsumiko felt a hand on her shoulder. She grabbed a kunai from her nightstand and held it in front of her. Kakashi held his hands up and backed away slightly.

"Whoa, easy there. You aren't in danger," He said softly. She let out a sigh and set the kunai down. She waited until her heart had calmed down to a steady rhythm and she looked up at him.

"Sorry, I guess what happened still isn't out of my head," She said. Kakashi lowered his hands.

"It won't go away after one night. It will take time. I just noticed you weren't up yet and thought I would come wake you up. You have to be at the Hyuga compound in an hour," He said. She nodded her head and got up. He walked out of her room and shut her door so she could have some privacy. She put on a loose fitting shirt and shorts. When she turned to walk out of her room, she felt a pain in her shoulder. She held her shoulder and the thoughts of leaving flooded her mind. She could hear Orochimaru telling her to leave with him. She shook her head and walked out of her room. She said goodbye to her dad and walked out. She knew he was going to check on Sasuke today and she didn't want to keep him any longer. She got to the Hyuga compound and knocked on the door. She saw the door open and Neji was standing there.

"You're here on time," he said. She nodded her head and he walked her over to where they trained. Hiashi was there and he was watching his youngest train.

"Ah, Itsumiko. I almost thought you were going to be late," He said.

"I would never be late," She responded. He let out a chuckle.

"Your dads and your reputation for being late have flooded through the village. I'm just surprised," He said. She let out a soft giggle.

"For today all I'm going to have you do is try to activate the Byakugan and see how long you can hold it while fighting. Neji will be your opponent so it should be slightly challenging," He said. He had his daughter dismissed and the two walked into the center of the room. She didn't know the first thing about activating anything.

"Just focus your chakra into your left eye. When you see my chakra points, you will know it's working," Neji said. She nodded her head and tried to focus her chakra. She watched as Neji activated his Byakugan with ease. She could feel her chakra in her eye but nothing was changing. She let out a sigh.

"It isn't working," She said. Hiashi stood and looked at her.

"It's a visual prowess jutsu. You will need to use a lot of chakra until you can get used to it," He said. She focused more chakra into her eye and she could start to feel it working. She saw the flow of Neji's chakra in his body. The minute he saw the lines on her face start to form he ran at her. Her concentration was interrupted and she dodged his attack. The problem was, she didn't hold her chakra into her eye and the sight disappeared.

"When you're in a fight it is hard to concentrate. Don't completely focus on one thing. When you feel the Byakugan working, split your attention into the attack and into your eye," Neji said. She nodded her head and focused. It started to work again and Neji ran at her. She kept her focus on her eye and dodged his attack.

"Don't think, just do," Neji said and appeared in front of her, she blocked his hand and moved to the side. She could feel herself getting tired and they had just started. She pushed him away and rested her hands on her knees. She tried to catch her breath.

"I think that is enough for right now. You aren't used to using so much chakra at one

time," Hiashi said. Itsumiko let out a groan. Neji walked up to her and laid a hand on her shoulder.

"It will get easier. I promise. Right now is the hardest part. As we continue to use it and train, it will get easier," He said. She stood straight and nodded her head. She felt frustrated. She used jutsu all the time, she didn't understand why this was so difficult. She looked at Neji with a determined look and activated the Byakugan. He smirked at her and tried to run behind her. He ran towards her left side but she noticed she could see him. He kicked his leg upward and she grabbed him and threw him across the room. He got up quickly and smirked.

"You learn fast, you can see around you even in the place you used to have a blindspot. But I know you don't know one thing," He said and he disappeared again. She looked around being able to see on her left side but she felt a hand on the back of her head.

"You can't see directly behind you. That is the Byakugan's one weakness," He said. She let out a sigh. She heard Neji chuckle.

"That is one secret we don't tell anyone. If people knew about that, they would be able to counteract the Byakugan and would be able to use our vision against us," He said. He walked in front of her.

"The other thing is, you have a bigger weakness," He said. She looked at him already knowing what he was going to say.

"I only have it in my left eye, which means I won't be able to see in the blind spot of my right side," She said. He nodded his head.

"I always knew you were a quick learner," He said. He still had his hand on the back of her head. A small blush formed on her face.

"Are you going to let me go or are you going to hold me until the end of time?" She asked him. He chuckled and pulled her towards him. He gently kissed her and her eyes fluttered close. Every time he kissed her it felt like it was the first time. She gently backed away from him.

"Maybe your home where Hiashi is, isn't a good place," She said. He smiled at her.

"I think any place is a good place," He said. She smiled and looked down. He could see she was still frustrated. He lifted her chin up gently and made her look at him.

"It's the first day you are using it. Give it some time," He said softly. She nodded her head in understanding. He laid a hand on her shoulder and ran his hand down her arm. He started to back away and she watched as his Byakugan became active.

"Lets go again, now that you know this," He said with a smirk. She smirked and she saw his chakra points. Now that she knew the weaknesses of the Byakugan she could try and out smart him. He tried to stay in her blindspot but she was able to counter his attacks. But what she didn't know is that she wasn't dodging his attacks. She felt herself slowing down and the Byakugan faded away. She kneeled on the ground and looked up.

"What the hell?" She asked. Neji walked up to her and lifted up her sleeves. She saw small red circles on her arms.

"You may be fast, but why do you think we are able to see your chakra points?" He asked her. She looked up at him.

"Oh you bastard," She said. Neji chuckled and helped her up.

"It'll take you the rest of the day to heal up from me shutting off the chakra points, so we will call it a day," He said. She nodded her head and Neji brought her outside. They sat on the steps next to each other.

"You know, it's weird how we both shut people out but yet we open up to each other," He said. She giggled.

"Maybe it's because we understand each other. I mean, we both lost someone important to us because of the hardships of the ninja world. We both like to keep to ourselves and all we do is train. And I guess, we've both had something happen to us that kind of shifted our mindset," She said. Neji looked at her.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe it's destiny that brought us together," He said with a smile. Itsumiko let out a low laugh.

"There you go with destiny again," She said and she stood up. Neji stood and walked her out of the compound. Before she left he gently grabbed her hand and had her look at him.

"I believe there is a reason we are together. The connection we have, I know you can feel it as well. I will protect that bond with my life. I don't want to lose you," He said. She smiled at him.

"You won't lose me Neji," She said. He gave her a kiss and let her leave. As she walked back home she was determined to find a way to get this mark off of her. If that meant she had to go to the ends of the earth to find a way then she would do it. She didn't want to leave her home. She didn't want to lose her lover or her friends and family. It wouldn't be easy, but she would find a way through it.
