Chris' POV
December 8th, 202...

- Baby, I can't reach the top of the Christmas tree. Help me out - Dakota says as I walk back into the living room taking my coat off after going outside to throw some empty boxes away from our Christmas ornaments. Her eyes are shining and her nose has the sweetest pink tone because of how cold it is during this season in Aspen -

- Should I put it or do you want me to lift you up? - I enquire and I can't help but smile when her expression lets me know she wants to do it herself - Ok. Let's do this! - I grab her by the waist which tickles her so she starts giggling. I lift her up holding her steady as she puts the tree topper. She makes sure it is impeccably placed and when it is ready, she victoriously declares it so I put her down slowly -

- Isn't it perfect? - Dakota says as she looks at the tree -

- It is, yeah. You did a great job, baby

- We did a great job! - she puts her arms around my neck embracing me close to her body. I'm in awe of her as I stare into her blue eyes. She's glowing - Thank you for helping me to decorate it this year - she utters and swiftly kisses me -

- I only handed you things - I state grinning while moving my hands down her body and placing them on the small of her back - I also enjoyed helping you... but then, I always enjoy doing any sort of activities with you - I lean and give her a peck on the lips. She looks completely delighted by what I'm telling her - I have my favorite ones though. I prefer some over other activities - Dakota's expression goes from dreamy to sassy in less than a second and I smile broadly as she raises an eyebrow -

- If you love it so much maybe that'll be the only gift you'll be getting for Christmas this year

- I'll happily take it. Can I get it now? - She bursts into laughter and I follow her -

- I need to go downtown first. There are some things we need to buy - she explains as she caresses my shoulders -

- There's a box you haven't opened yet - I slightly move my head in direction to where it has been all this time. She frowns and looks behind me -

- Oh! Right! The Christmas stockings. Let's hang them over the fireplace

Dakota goes to get the unopened box while I create five spots for hanging the stockings. I carefully place adhesive hooks on the fireplace wall and as I do, I think how sweet it is that she always gets a Christmas stocking for each of my children and one for Zeppelin. This is the first holiday we are spending in this house she's bought because it really took her time to finish it as she was extremely meticulous with its decoration. She is certainly passionate about interior design and she has put her heart and soul into this home.

- There's a stocking left. You need to put another hook - Dakota says and I frown - Have you got gifts for Momo and Apple yet? - she adds quickly-

- Actually, I have. I'm sure Moses will love it... not sure about Apple, she's more difficult... Have you? - I ask as I step back so she can hang the sixth stocking over the fireplace -

- Of course, I have. I'm sure they'll like it because I'm fucking good at getting people presents - I laugh out loud while I wrap my arms around Dakota. Her back to my front as I bury my face on her neck making her chuckle.

- Aren't you being a bit cocky? - I murmur near her skin and then softly bite her earlobe. She shivers in response - Will I like my present? - she turns to face me while I keep my embrace around her and she puts both her hands on my cheeks making me stare directly at her bright eyes -

- You'll love it - she utters with an earnest tone - because it's something I know you've really wanted for a long time even though you've never told me about it- I frown. What's she talking about? She smiles clearly amused by my confused expression and then kisses me softly -
