°Chapter 8: Jace's Past

He raped her. Jace forces himself on her. It's not if she liked it. What was she thinking?

"Mommy I think she has a fever, her cheeks red," Celeste said. Pearl blushed even more.

The thoughts she was having weren't decent. Last night, even though he forced her. It felt strange. Yeah, he hurt her. But she had this feeling in the pit of her stomach. And it was a good feeling.

"I can't understand you," Eleanor said. "You seemed scared and didn't want anyone to go near you. Now your blushing and have this smiled on your face. Do you hate Jace?"

"No, of course, I don't hate him, I love him," Pearl said. "Maybe I did hate him, but all the hatred fled out of me." It's true. He hated Jace for what he did to her. But now she doesn't. She was happy for some odd reason. Even her wolf seem delighted. I could be becasue Jace didn't use protection. Oh god, he didn't use protection.

"You love him too much, that you forgave him," Eleanor said.

"Is it wrong?" Pearl asked. "I should despise him. But I don't." Pearl twirl a strand of her hair.

Her father burst in, and he looked angry. Oh god, she hopes Zach warned Jace about her father.

"That bastard, his not even at the cabin, he ran!" Her father said. "I told you Pearl once a rogue always a rogue!" He paced back and forth. "Sorry, Eleanor."

"It's alright," Eleanor smile. "I understand."

"I forbid you to see him!" He said. She gasped standing up.

"No father!" she yelled. "I love him. And we mated already. You can't forbid me anything. For all I know, I could be carrying his child!"

"Pearl, you know how much I despise rogues," her father said. "Rogue kill your mother." She looked away.

"Jace isn't a rogue," Eleanor said. "Trust me he isn't. And whatever been going on with him. Zach will figure it out. Jace isn't a bad guy. He just went through a lot. Jace has a big burden and can't fully get rid off. But he's trying his best to rid of it. Trust him."

"Fine, but he better be a man and shows up," her father said and left. She sighed.

"Thank you," she sat back down. "You guys know Jace. I mean you know his past."

"Yes," Eleanor said. "Someday he'll tell you."

"I know," Pearl rubbed her arm. "Where could he be?"

"Not sure but maybe Zach found him first and led him away," Eleanor said. "Now you need to shower so that I can clean and bandage your wounds." She nodded and headed to the bathroom. Pearl took her time bathing and just relaxed. Touching her lips, she smiled. She trembles wanting to cry.

'His changing,' Sal said.'Something in him is changing.'

'Like what? Can you tell?' Pearl asked.

'No, but his hand change into a paw,' Sal said. 'The weird part about it was that his paw was like that of a human. But as a paw. You get what I mean?'

'Human-like?' Pear,l said.

'Yes,' Sal said.'Oh wait, like a werewolf!'

'What?!' Pearl shook her head.

The werewolf was not common among them. It was rare when one showed up. They were wolves that mutated. Their DNA didn't form well. Mainly it was like a disease. If bitten by one, regardless if they are a wolf or a vampire. They'll still get the disease. But vampires being bitting is rare too. Such as them wolf. It's more common in humans, and witches sometimes knew how to heal them. Yeah, witches are real. Many things are. But that's another story. Anyways, get bitten, and they'll turn into one. A person needs to get treated a night before a full moon. Or they'll shift if they don't get treated soon. It will become permanently little by little. If Jace is becoming one how the hell did he get infected? Did one of them bit them? Jace, how did he become infected?

She quickly finishes bathing and got out. Eleanor was still in her room. She had picked out some clothes for her. She changed as fast as I could.

"Whoa, what's wrong?" Eleanor asked helping brush her hair.

"I think Jace got bitten by a werewolf!" She yelled. Eleanor gasped. "It's the only explanation for his behavior. You know they can't control themselves."

"Right," once she was dressed she rushed out. Her father was in his study. She bolted in.

"Pearl, what's wrong?" He asked.

"A werewolf may have bitten Jace," she said.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"It's the only explanation," she said. "Hace hand become a paw father. Not a normal wolf paw. But it was hairy and bony. And looked like a human hand."

"Will need to check his blood," he said. "If only we knew where he was?"

Eleanor rushed in.

"Zach back, and Jace with him," she said.

Pearl ran out. Didn't stop until she spotted Jace. He looked exhausted. She ran to him and hugged him. He hugged her back holding her tightly.

"Pearl I'm sorry," he said. Jace sniffs her; it was good to be by her side. 

Even after Jace hurt her, Pearl still loves him. "It's alright," she kissed him. He smells like blood. Not her blood. "What happened?"

"I don't know," he said. "I can't remember." He sighed. He was exhausted. All he wanted to do was sleep. "Ow!" He rubbed his arm. The pack doctor was here. When did he get here? He had a syringe filled with blood.

"I'll use this blood to run some tests," the doctor said and left.

"Why?" Jace asked. "He could've had asked before taking my blood."

"Jace, you didn't get bitten by someone?" Pearl asked. "There may be a chance you're becoming a werewolf."

"What?!" He sat down. "But I can't remember." He groaned, great his becoming a werewolf. That is worse than being a wolf. Becasue he won't be able to control himself. It's what happened last night with Pearl. Jace wasn't aware of what he was doing, He was, but he couldn't control himself,

"It's alright," she sat next to him and held him. "You'll remember eventually." He kissed his cheek. "Come on let's wash that blood off." He nodded. He allows her to lead him upstairs to her room. And into the bathroom. While he undressed she warm the water. He got in pulling her down with him. She gasped and just went along with it. Pearl grabbed the soap and rubbed it over his chest. Wiping the blood off his chest, he had a few scratches. Jace must've had done it to himself. Pearl carefully clean it, but he didn't wince at all.

"It frustrates me that I can't remember," he said. "Pearl, if I do go werewolf again. Run from me, stay away from me. Hit me or something. I do not wish to hurt you again." He didn't want to hurt her again. He loves her too much. "I love you too much. If I hurt you again, I'll forever blame myself. So promise you'll hit me or something. But don't be near me when I lose control."

"Okay," she said. "Jace, can you tell me about your past?" He sighed and nodded. "Really?"

"Yeah, no point in hiding it," he looked up at the ceiling. Pearl washes his chest. It was time to tell her everything. "My life was good growing up with my friends and family. Zach is my cousin. We grow up together. Same age, born same year different months." He smiled. "There's this house by a lake. More like a cabin, but anyways. We have been hanging out there since we where five. Every summer we would spend it there. It was fun. We never kept secrets; we told each other everything. Kaden, Hades, Zach, and the only girl Jenny. She's a tomboy yet girly. Growing up with a bunch of boys took a toll on her. But she turned out to be a beautiful young lady. But it seems our trio keep started when Kaden and Hades met Daisy." 

Pearl sat there listening to Jace.
