Pearl sat on the front steps alone. Jace. Jace. Is all she could think of nothing else matters to her?
"Someone is coming," Sal said.
Pearl sat up straight. Sniffing the air, she could smell blood and then heard a small growl. Looking to her side, Pearl saw a wolf emerge. At first, she thought it was an attack. But then she saw the woman on his back fall off. Pearl ran over and knelt down. She was badly wounded. The wolf clasped and shifted back. He then sat up.
"Please help," he said. "Jim?"
"You want my father?" He nodded and fainted.
"Help!" Pearl called out. The woman breathing was rapid. "Help!!"
His father rushed out with everyone behind.
"Alpha Fabio," her father said. He and the others help them. They took them to the pack doctor.
Pearl had to stay behind. What could've had happened? They all waited back at the house. Soon her father came back.
"Jace killed half his pack!" Her father said. "But seems Jace was able to control himself. It's why Fabio came to me."
Jace killed innocent people. Pearl can't believe it. He wouldn't do something like that.
"And his on the loose," he said. "He got away from the damn group. And is now out there on a rampage."
"At least he got away," Zach said. "Now we have to get to him before they do."
"Yeah, so we better get started," Hades said.
"True for now will get as much rest as needed and make a plan," her father said. "I'll be going to Fabio pack and see if there are any survivors."
After he left Pearl went up to her room and laid in bed. He killed people. Wiped out half a pack. She sighed. She needs to find him.
"Hey," Pearl looked up at Eleanor. "It will be okay. Will get to him before they do."
"You're going too?" Pearl asked.
"Yes," she said. "But your staying. Your condition isn't something we can risk." It sucks, she is pregnant. "Don't do anything stupid."
Pearl nodded.
But Pearl doubts she believed her. She'll do something stupid. Jace is her mate. She has the right to go and look for him. And she will.
That night her father came back. He looked tired.
"Any survivors?" Zach asked as they sat down for dinner.
"Yes, seemed he didn't hurt the children," he said. "Some adults escape, we found some roaming around. Others went to different packs. They'll be safe. By now the clans around want Jace detained immediately and to terminate the rogues." Pearl ate slowly. "Also, one of the survivors was hiding. And he saw Jace with a child. The child was alive. And some rogue where following them. The person, follow them and saw Jace jumped from a cliff with the child."
"You think he was conscious when he did that?" Hades asked.
"He must've been if he ran from them," her father said. "Let's say his back to normal. If he is, we have a week in half before the next full moon."
"Good," Zach said.
"I'll deal with Kayla, that bitch mine," Jenny said.
"Jenny," Gareth sighed. He was about to speak when the doorbell rang. Pearl got up. Walking over the door, she opened it.
