○Chapter 18: Jace's Parents

"What's wrong with you?" Jace asked Aldric. He has been pacing back and forth for an hour.

"I don't know; her scent is strong!" He yelled. "I can sense her, yet not sure where she is. She moves around a lot."

"Well, is she still now?" Jace asked.

"Yes," he sighed.

"Then go before she moves again," Jace stood up. He nodded.

"Hey!" Aldric groaned. And Jace could understand his frustration. Sue walked up to them. She as all bruised up.

"What happened to you?" Aldric asked her.

"Some dumb bitch attacked me last night," Sue said. "Anyways, I'm bored let's hang out."

"No thank you," Aldric frowned. "I have to meet someone later on."

"Who?" She asked.

"None of your business," he said.

"Zeesh rude," she flipped her hair. "Have you heard. There was a nasty accident yesterday afternoon. The two adults are fine, but the two kids are missing. And they say theirs a killer out there."

"Don't you have something better to do than gossip?" Aldric asked.

"Your such a party pooper," she said and walked away.

Jace just chuckled. That girl sure did wanted Aldric.

"Didn't hear of no accident?" Aldric said. "Maybe they haven't passed it on the news yet. Or maybe they did, and I didn't notice."

"Whichever, hope they alright," Jace said.

But now Jace had this little pain in his chest. Like something happened. Why is he always having this pain?

"Anyways," Aldric stood up. "Let's go somewhere. It's a nice day, beside Natalia can't keep wearing my childhood clothes."

"True," Natalia looked down the clothes. They where Aldric clothes when he was a child. They fit her, but he can't keep dressing her up as a boy. "Alright will go."

"I'll buy them," Aldric said.

"Thanks, I'll pay you back," Jace said.

"Nah, it's fine," they walked out.

The town wasn't far. Everything around here was close. As Jace and Aldric arrived in town, a man walked up to them.

"Aldric, your father hasn't arrived?" The man asked.

"No," Aldric frowned. "Why did he say he was coming?"

"Yes, we called him," the man said. "To find those two missing kids. The parents woke up, and they want to go out and look for them. But it's dangerous; there have been some killings around." Jace can only imagine who the killers where. Kayla and her group had come this far. But do they have Pearl with them? "Your father the best we have."

"I'll tell him once he comes," Aldric said. The man nodded and walked away.

"Your father a cop?" Jace asked.

"No, more like a detective," he said.

"No wonder you have a nice home," Jace chuckled.

"Maybe I'll go check on the parents," Aldric said. "After we shop."

"Sure," Jace smiled.

It felt awkward shopping with Natalia. People stare at them. Jace thinks they thought they were a gay couple. Becasue they had Natalia with them, shopping clothes for her. And they picked them out for her. Must've had been weird for the people around.
