A/n: I have a Bucky Barnes charm necklace that Iw ear, that makes me feel protected. So, I decided to write an imagine about it.

Summary: Bucky gave you a promise charm to wear that had his name on it. After the break-up, you took it off. He notices.

Also, more fluff or angst? Let me know.

===

You pulled the necklace off your neck, tears streaming down your face.

You threw the necklace on your night-stand, curling onto your bed and bawling.

No more cuddles. No more comfort. Just you and your broken heart.

Bucky had promised nothing would happen. Well, he did put that promise on a charm. And then, he was off telling you things wouldn't work anymore.

But he promised.

"I hate people," You thought, before drifting into an uncomfortable sleep.

===

Eyes puffy, hair a mess, you crept down into the kitchen, where Bucky and Steve were.

They both turned when you came in, and Bucky quickly turned around, but then turned back to look at you.

You ignored him, grabbing a box of mac and cheese, and turned the stove on.

Bucky and Steve sat at the island, in an uncomfortable silence.

You turned to rest against the counter, quickly looking at Bucky.

He was wearing his charm.

You weren't,

"Where's your charm?" Bucky asked.

"Hm?" You said, playing dumb.

"You're necklace," Bucky said, holding his up with your name on it.

"Oh," You said. "I took it off."

Bucky frowned.

"Why?" He asked.

"Well," You said, turning to pour the pasta in. "I don't need someone's name to remember. It's easy to remember the name of someone who broke your heart."

Bucky's jaw clenched.

"Y/n," He said. "I didn't mean it like that."

"I'm, uh, gonna, go get something," Steve said, before leaving.

"Great," You muttered, rolling your eyes as you stirred the pasta.

"Y/n, please listen to me," Bucky said. "I just didn't want to hurt you."

"Well, you hurt me plenty," You said, turning to look at him. "All because of a promise. I was so dumb to think you were telling the truth."

"Y/n, I will always always love you," Bucky said.

"Really?" You said, turning to face him completely. "Then why'd you leave?"

"Because I was scared you were gonna be the one to hurt me!" Bucky admitted, leaving you in a silence.

You gaped at him.

"You-you thought I was gonna hurt you?" You whispered, and Bucky nodded.

"I thought no one could love me so much like you did," Bucky said. "And I didn't want to be hurt like that. I couldn't."

You turned off the stove, throwing the pan into the sink and walking to Bucky.

You sat next to him, grabbing his metal arm and starting to trace the lines.

"I wish you would've talked to me," You whispered.

Bucky suddenly wrapped both arms around you, pulling you into him, and sobbing into your hair.

("Yellow" Vibes ^ 🤭)

"I'm sorry," He sobbed. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I just couldn't."

"I wish you would've also thought what this did to me," You said.

He pulled away, placing a lingering kiss on your forehead.

"I'm sorry," He whispered.

"Stay here," You said, quickly going up to your room, and grabbed the necklace, running back downstairs.

His face brightened when he saw the charm, and you sat down, giving him the necklace.

"Do the honors?" You said, and he nodded, placing the necklace around your neck and hooking it together. "We can try again, together."

And you both shared a loving kiss.
