Summary: Y/n has been battling depression her whole life, to the point where her nightmares haunt her shadows, and she can't breathe.

You sat on the couch, curled up in a ball, chewing your thumb nail.

The thoughts of the team secretly not liking you hunted you for months, and you just couldn't take it anymore.

Tears slowly crawled down your cheeks, and you leaned back against the couch, taking slow deep breaths.

You needed one person.

Your best friend.

Bucky Barnes.

Quickly getting up, you fast-walked to the ex-assassins room, and swung open his door.

"Jesus, doll, you scared m—hey, are you okay?" Bucky said.

You stood by the door, tears pouring down your cheeks.

You choked a sob, making your way to Bucky.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" He said, slowly wrapping his arms around you.

"The—the—team, and—and—"

"Hey, shh," Bucky said. "It's okay. You can sit with me for as long as you'd like."

"I'm so sorry!" You sobbed, clinging onto his chest, as you continued to sob.

"Y/n, no, stop," Bucky said.

You flinched, thinking he was tired or mad at you.

"Oh, sorry," You said. "I'll go—"

"No, Y/n," Bucky said, softly. "I meant 'no' as stop beating yourself up."

He slowly started inning his metal fingers though your hair.

"Don't apologize," He said. "For anything. Nothing you do is your fault."

"But what if the team doesn't like me?" You said. "What if they're all pretending? What if—"

Without warning, Bucky's lips were on yours.

You sobbed into his lips, wrapping your arms around his neck.

You both pulled away.

"That wasn't fake was it?" Bucky whispered, smiling.

You softly smiled, shaking your head, before nuzzling into his neck.

"I'm happy when you're around," You whispered.

"So am I," Bucky said.

He held onto you tightly, placing kisses all over your head.

Perhaps the team didn't like you.

But for one thing—

The Winter Soldier was in love with you.
