Chapter 5
The ride back home was a quite one at first in till Wesley asked my to put in a CD.
“Which one?” I asked searching through all the different one's he had. I was surprised at how many there was.
“Doesn't matter. Anyone that stands out to you.”
I looked over all the CD's one more time before picking a blank orange one. I plopped it into the stereo system. Seconds later an acoustic guitar came in and someone began speaking a few words. A moment later a different voice began singing.. I looked over at Wesley. The voice sounded way too familiar.
“Is...” I started. Wesley glanced towards me. “Is that you?”
He nodded a small smile on his lips. I tapped my foot to the music. When Wesley started singing again I was in awe.
“Wow. You are in an amazing singer!” I complimented. “And is that Drew rapping? Sweet!” I grew excited. The only other person that I've met that could actually sing well was Tori.
“Thanks. My bro, Drew and I are part of a band called Emblem3. We make our own music. Well Drew mostly writes them but still.” Wes chuckled.
“You guys should do something with this. It's awesome.” I said still enjoying the music.
“Yeah, the guys and are are thinking of auditioning for Xfactor.”
“You guys have my vote!” I chimed.
“Good to know.” Wesley smiled. The rest of the ride home we listened to the track. It was filled with songs I actually liked. Honestly, I believed that if they worked at this they could have a shot of getting signed.
By the time we got back to his place it was 11 O'clock at night. When we pulled up to the drive way though I noticed Tori's car wasn't parked outside anymore. Wesley most have noticed too since he stopped and put the car in park without taking out the keys.
“I'll call her.” I said before pulling out my phone and pulling up her number. Pressing call I waited as the phone kept ringing. When I was forwarded to the voice mail, I hung up. Literally 5 seconds later, my phone vibrated. A new text message from Tori popped up.
Sorry. Drew came over and he decided to spend the night. ;) Think you could crash there? Pleaseeee?
Was she being serious? She wanted me to spend the night at Wesley's place so her and Drew could obviously get it in? I'm happy to help a friend out, don't get me wrong, but all of my stuff was at the apartment.
“And your glaring at your phone because...?” Wesley asked trailing off. I sighed before turning to him.
“Tori and Drew went back to her place for...some time. She wanted to know if I could crash here tonight?” I explained and asked at the same time. I grew nervous at the answer he was going to give me. I was sure he wasn't going to turn me down but where was I going to sleep? Oh wait, duh, the couch.
“No, you can't.” Wesley stated with a straight face and my heart sunk low into my stomach. Wesley let out a laugh and that's when I realized it was a joke. I punched him on the arm.
“That wasn't funny! I thought you were serious!” Wesley clicked the button above his head again, opening the garage door. While he slowly eased into the garage I could see that he was still trying to suppress his laugh.
“You should have seen your face.” He explained putting the car in park and taking the key out of the ignition. If he wanted to toy with me, I could toy right back. Without looking or speaking to Wes I got out of the car, closed the car door and made my way to the door leading inside of the house as if I was angry at him. I heard his car door slam shut before he followed me. Since he needed to unlock the door to get inside I stood there with my arms crossed. Oh how hard it was to keep a straight face.
