 Chapter 14

Considering the fact that it was still dark out and I hardly knew the area, finding my way back to the house was somewhat of a challenge. Half way through my search, I almost gave up on finding the house on my own and just calling Tori to pick me up. Unfortunately, that couldn't even happen. When I patted down my pockets I found nothing.

Groaning, I ran a frustrated hand through my hair but not without wincing as pain shot up my shoulder. Taking a deep breath and trying to push down any aggravation, I began walking again. Looking around I couldn't even tell if anything looked familiar. Some of it did and others didn't.

Finally, after only god knows how long, I found the house. The sun was already starting to come up and the sky was already starting to turn into a pretty blue color.

I noticed that Tori's white Santa Fe car was parked in the drive way but no other cars were present. They could be parked in the garage though. A few moment passed and I almost decided on turning around and just forgetting the whole plan to get cleaned up. But then I remembered how horrible I must look and also the pain I was in. There is no way I could stand to keep walking when I knew I had a chance to relax.

After a moment I finally made my way to the door and hesitantly knocked. Several seconds passed without an answer and it crossed my mind that maybe they were all still at the hospital. Right when I was about to turn away, I heard the lock from the door click before the door was ripped open by an angry Tori who looked like she had just been sleeping.

As soon as she saw me though the anger on her face disappeared and it was replaced with shock. Her eyes were wide and her mouth became agape like she wanted to say something but didn't know what.

With steady eyes I watched as her own wide ones studied my face.

“What the hell happened?” She whispered.

I said nothing. Instead I opted for looking down at the ground and shifting my weight to one leg.

“Did Collin....?” She trailed off, no doubt her eyes still taking in the sight of me. How bad did I look?

When I continued to stay quiet she let out a sigh before reaching for my arms and pulling me inside. I bit my tongue to stop the cry of pain that wanted to come out. Tori must have noticed because she quickly let go, closing the door and stuttering out an apologize.

“C'mon, let's get you cleaned up.” She said before walking a head up the stairs, no doubt going to the bathroom. On the way there she started asking questions.

“Back at the hospital, where did you go? One second you take Wes somewhere to talk and the next he comes back and you aren't with him-”

“I told him.”

“Told him what?”

When we made it to the bathroom I sat on the toilet with the lid down while Tori began searching the cabinet beneath the sink for something.

“Collin and I.”

As soon as I said that Tori quickly jerked up causing her to hit the top of her head on the top of the sink. She muttered an ow before scratching the now sore area. At the scene I couldn't help but let out a chuckle but stopped when I saw her face go serious, which caused mine to do the same.

“I'm guessing he didn't take it well considering the fact he came back into the room all pissed off.”

“He did?” I asked.

“Yeah, and when we asked him what happened and where you were he just shook his head and changed the topic to something else.” She continued. “ It makes sense now. Expect for one thing.”
