The three of them had to go call Armstrong again so he could move Alphonse's body outside, and when that was over they all laydown and stare at the clouds, Den also joining them. It was nice out, a soft breeze and the sun was at the perfect location so it didn't hit their eyes.
" Three days..." Edward mumbles quietly before raising his voice, " Three days of doing absolutely nothing!" Edward throws a rock aggressively in the air, making sure it doesn't hit him on the way down and Alphonse looks at his bored brother.
" I mean, isn't nice to have a break once in a while? We've been working really hard." Edward's frown only deepens as he waves his arm around trying to shake off his energy, " I hate breaks!" Edward relaxes his arm and rests it on his slightly exposed stomach, Alphonse and (Y/n) share a look, Den even joining in on it as he rests on (Y/n)'s lap.
" If you're really that bored you could always go visit mom." Alphonse notes, (Y/n) turns to see Edward's expression and waits for him to reply, " Go see mom huh? But you can't go so what's the point?" Alphonse sighs and looks at his brother, " I know, but after we fix our bodies we're going to Central, who knows when we'll have time like this."
A reasonable point, Edward hums as he thinks about what Alphonse said, " I guess I'm headed off then." With that Edward stands and goes to grab his coat, " (Y/n) you should go too." (Y/n) looks over to Alphonse with a tilted head, " Are you sure?"
Edward comes back with his coat and answers for Alphonse, " I don't see why not, and don't start with that ' I don't wanna intrude' bullshit cause your not."
" Yeah, and don't feel bad about leaving me alone. I'll be fine plus, I got Den with me!" Den woofs and goes over to Alphonse, "See? I'll be fine here." The Elrics each dismissed (Y/n)'s concerns in record time, which left her with no reasons not to go, "Alight, alright I'll go."
(Y/n) sits up and was about to stand but Edward extends his hand, " You're gonna fall, here." (Y/n) takes his hand and takes a few uneasy steps before getting into the rhythm, "Alright cya Al!" The two of them wave and Alphonse waves back, "Be safe guys!" Alphonse calls out, they nod and start heading to Trisha's grave.
Den barks and Alphonse looks at him, " Don't look at me like that Den, I just want them to have a moment together." Den tilts his head not understanding why Alphonse just outed himself, or more realistically he couldn't understand human speech. Alphonse sighs and looks at them walking away.
" Is it bad that I'm more invested in their relationship then they are?" Den yawns and lays down next to Alphonse, letting him talk his ear off, " It's like that detective and journalist! I finished that book a while ago and I started this new one, let me tell you about it Den!" Alphonse explains the plot of the book to Den, even when Armstrong will eventually come to take him to hang out with Winry.
Not far from Alphonse, Milo and Armstrong have been delegated a new task, chopping wood. Milo only handed the logs for Armstrong to crush but Armstrong's enthusiasm makes him feel like he's doing something, as they chop Milo looks around and sees (Y/n) and Edward walking away and a familiar pit of jealousy forms in his stomach.
Milo never understood how (Y/n) and Edward got along so well, Edward was brutally honest to the point of being rude. Milo didn't like Edward because he was a pompous asshole, and what made him dislike him more was the natural bond he has with (Y/n) despite how much of jerk he is.
" I thought I told those children it's dangerous to walk around alone!" Armstrong exclaims, but before he could chase after them Pinako comes out to check on their progress, " Let 'em be, nothing like what you're imagining happens here, besides they have each other." Armstrong hums and looks at them walk.
