25: Leap of Fleating Faith

On the way to the kitchen (Y/n) hears mischievous giggles coming from inside and once she enters she sees Winry trying to pry open Edward's watch, " Idiot sealed it with alchemy!" (Y/n) grabs a seed and creates a vine to snatch it out of Winry's hands, everyone looks at (Y/n) like kids who broke a vase and (Y/n) rests the hand not holding the watch on her hip.

" And it should stay that way." Paninya points at the watch with a frown, " We just wanted to see what kind of secrets he has in there!" (Y/n) gives Paninya a look and puts the watch in her pocket, " As Eddie's lawyer this sounds like an invasion of privacy."

Agreeing, Milo folds his arms and looks at the group, " I told you not to do it." (Y/n) looks at Milo then at the rest of the group, "Did you peer pressure Milo into letting this happen?"

Winry rubs the side of her face, " No?" Milo deadpans and Paninya points at him, " He allowed himself to be peer pressured." This time everyone deadpans and Ricardo scratches the back of his head and sighs, " I'm sorry it was immature." (Y/n) nods and Winry puts her hands at her sides, " I'm sorry too, I just wanted to know more about Ed." (Y/n) blinks at the confession and slowly nods, "Uhm, thank you for your honesty?"

(Y/n) looks at Paninya who snaps her fingers, " Equivalent Exchange!" Everyone looks at Paninya confused at her sudden use of an alchemy phrase, " For something to be gained something of equal value must be lost right?" (Y/n) hums in agreement curious about what she was getting at, " S0 the opposite must be true! For something to be lost something of equal value must be gained!"

Paninya's theory was interesting and (Y/n) wanted to play around with it, " Alright, what do you expect to gain from losing the opportunity to look at Eddie's watch?" Paninya looks puzzled at the question before thinking, "Money?"

(Y/n) laughs before replying, "Natural Providence, things composed of one material can only be transmuted into objects of similar material, it's literally the basis of my alchemy."

" So what about a candy bar?"

" Conversation of Mass."

" What's that?"

" For this situation it means,
things that are deconstructed can
only break down into components of equal mass."

Paninya still tries to think of something and (Y/n) sighs, " Fine a watch for a watch, I want it back though." (Y/n) tosses her watch and Paninya catches it Milo, Winry, and Ricardo already peeking over her shoulder to look at it, " You guys work fast." She mumbles under her breath, they open the watch and see the date 12, 4, 13, stretched into a semicolon.

Everyone looked confused at the watch before Winry blurts out, " Is that the day you died?" Winry immediately slaps her hand over her mouth and (Y/n) groans, " Winry!" Paninya and Ricardo look shocked and Milo stood there not knowing what to do, "Your dead!?" Ricardo panics, (Y/n) sighs and Winry repeatedly apologizes.

" No I'm not dead, the date there is when my parents put someone else's soul in this doll to act as my vessel." (Y/n) left parts out for self-explanatory reasons. Milo looks down and mentally sighs so no one would notice his feelings on the subject, "Someone else's soul?" Ricardo questions, (Y/n) shrugs, " I don't know either."

Ricardo hums and half-heartedly comments, " What were they trying to do, split it?" Milo and (Y/n) freeze for different reasons. (Y/n) because it was totally possible, it made sense because she was wearing another person's clothes in the gate but when she left she was in different ones. Truth did say it was the transmutation going into effect, "That's genius!"
