17: The Will's Way

Edward wakes up and realizes he isn't in his bed, which confused him at first before he remembered the events from last night. Edward yawns as he tries to stretch but realizes that there's a blanket and that his arm is wrapped around (Y/n)'s who looked to face him just now, "Rise and shine sleeping beauty, you must have pricked your finger good this time."

(Y/n) smirks as Edward tries to glare at her but another yawn interrupts him, " Whatever." Edward goes to rub his eye and looks around, judging by the amount of sun he woke up at a reasonable time, " Feeling better?'' Edward looks at her and nods, "Yeah, and uh- thanks." (Y/n) smiles and pats his head, " You can thank me by giving me back my money."

Edward furrows his eyebrows confused, "What?" (Y/n) tightens her grip on Edward's head, "The radio, it was in my suitcase." Edward blinks and deadpans, " I didn't even see it." (Y/n) rolls her eye and removes her hand, " Well check my suitcase and look at the third compartment it will be there." Edward huffs and falls back into the couch, pulling the blanket to his face.

" I'll do that later." (Y/n) sighs and looks at the cover of the book, she finished it all last night since she had nothing else to do, "Did you finish it?" (Y/n) passes the book to Edward as to say ' Yes, yes I did.' Edward lets go of the blanket and takes the book and flips to where he last remembers and was about to start reading before Winry comes down the stairs.

" Oh good you're wake, I finished your automail just now!" Edward and (Y/n) flinch at Winry's loudness but quickly recover as Edward jumps up excitedly to go see her, " About time! What about my leg?!" With perfect timing, Pinako comes around with his leg and Edward has a sparkly aura around him.

That same sparkly aura would quickly diminished when Pinako sits Edward in a chair and the two of them put on his automail, " I hate this part." Edward repeats over and over, (Y/n) looks at him curiously, she always heard Edward complain about the pain but never asked to describe it, " What does it feel like?" Edward snaps his head over to (Y/n) and uses tons of different analogies to put the pain into perspective.

" It's like pins and needles but the pins and needles are on fire.'' Though (Y/n) didn't understand that specific analogy Edward said tons more that she started to get the picture. Alphonse descends down the stairs and sees Edward about to put on his automail, "Brother!"

Alphonse only response was Edward's cries of pain, " You're supposed to give me a count off!" Pinako and Winry ignore him in favor of making sure the automail is correctly put on. The screams wake Armstrong and Milo and they go see what was happening, once they checked there was no danger Armstrong goes to make tea while Den and Milo go outside for fresh air.

After Edward has his automail put on, he stretches with it before looking to Alphonse, "Alright! Let's give this a test drive!" The two brothers run to the door that Milo conveniently opens and is jump-scared by the Elrics running towards him full force, "What the-!" Milo dives out of the way and Den licks his hand making sure his soul didn't fly out of him.

(Y/n) calmly walks out the door and sees Milo who trying to steady his rapidly beating heart, "You good?" Milo doesn't move his gaze and slowly nods, looking forward (Y/n) sees the Elrics duking it out. (Y/n) personally never participated in their spars, there was no reason why she just didn't.

Armstrong comes out and looks worried at the brothers, " Calm down Major they do this all the time, training their bodies or something like that." Armstrong nods and looks at Milo who has recovered from his shock and goes to the door, " You have anymore more tea Major?" Armstrong laughs, " Always my boy!" With that, the two of them go back inside.

Once the boys were done dueling Edward looks over to (Y/n) who was playing fetch with Den, "Hey (Y/n)!" (Y/n) waits for Den to come back with the ball before giving her attention to Edward, " What's up?'' She and Den walk over and Edward points at (Y/n), " The ring." (Y/n) flips the ring to Edward which he catches with ease.
