It was finally Delany's birthday. We were making a surprise party at Clyde's place, turns out he lives alone.
Anyways here I am at the mall searching for Del's presents.
I know I have to get his favorite shirt, we lost the one he had back in Ireland. It seemed like it just yesterday but in fact it has being a month. And I really loved the place.
I glanced randomly at the stores and spotted Del's shirt! With a big smile plastered in my face I walked inside the place and grabbed the shirt. Also saw a checkered sweater, maybe he'll use it when during winter, so I grabbed that too.
With everything in my arms I walked to the paying line.
Around eight minutes later I walked up to the cashier. It was a fine looking guy. I smiled up at him and he grinned, showing me all his perfect teeth.
"How's your day ma'am?" the guy asked.
"Great, thanks."
I looked at his tag and it read: James.
"This for your brother? I'm sure he'll love it."
"Actually they are for my husband and he better like them or I'll ask for a divorce."
The guy looked confused.
"You're married?"
I raised my left hand and showed him the ring that tied me with the love of my life. "Yes, happily married."
The guy shook his head. "How old are you?"
"Sixteen."
"And your 'husband'?" he air quoted the husband part, making me laugh. Some people don't believe I'm married yet.
"He's nineteen today. Can I have my change? My friends are waiting for me."
He handed me my money and I left the store laughing. Its not that strange for a sixteen year old to be married and happy....right?
I passed by the jewelry store and decided I could buy Del something. But as I looked around I couldn't find anything of my liking. Everything looked extremely girly. With a sigh I walked out and roamed the place.
A striking beautiful guitar got my attention. It was red and shiny and so perfect! In a haste I walked to the man behind the counter.
"Can I have that guitar?" I pointed to the red beauty.
It was electric. I didn't play electric as well as acoustic. But Del rocked at it. He loved metal/hardcore music while I went for the punk rock type.
And this was perfect for my hubby.
The guy nodded.
"Do you want a case with it, miss?" the man asked politely.
"Please."
I paid for the guitar and walked away happily.
Even though I wouldn't be able to hold on to the things I'm buying anymore.
The guitar is sort of heavy on my shoulder and the bag of clothes on my left hand was annoying.
I saw a small store that said hand made bracelets. Walked in and was bombarded by a guy.
"Are you finding everything okay?"
"Uhm I would like a bracelet." jeez I just got inside the store.
"Alright this way." he led me to the front desk. "What would you want it to say?"
He gave me a paper and I designed the bracelet. I wrote our names: Scarlett and Delany below mine. Next to our names I drew Mrs. Pac man a heart and Mr. Pac man. I have to admit they looked funny when I drew the circles. I chuckled. Next to those I wrote 4E.
