Two years later...
"Make a wish before you blow the candles!" I cheered my son as he closed his eyes really tight and mumbled something then blew out the candles and began to clap along with the rest of our friends. He looks so adorable right now.
A few seconds later I find myself cutting the cake into slices and placing them on red and blue plastic plates. Those are Kyle's new favorite colors, they change every week. They are always changing in pairs. Its sort of a cycle really.
"Momma I don't want this fork!" Kyle whined as he stared at the white plastic fork. I sigh and smile at him.
"How about this one?" I hold a red one in front of him and he smiles hugely. I swear that if he kept doing that my heart will jump out of my chest.
"Now what do you say?" Del placed a hand to Kyle's shoulder.
"Thanks mommy!"
"You're welcome." I said to empty space. He had jumped of the chair he had been standing on, grabbed his cake and ran out of the kitchen faster than a mad dog chasing a frightened cat.
"He's one little devil." Delany said with so much affection that I nearly cried in joy.
This past two years we've lived like kings. Delany started working with Ben and Mike at the editing company and so far they are the best. We still live in the same house we did when we first met. The only thing different might be the furniture and the vivid colors on the walls. Not to mention the mess Kyle was so fond of leaving behind. I swear every time he walks something falls and leaves a trail to where ever he is going. It's a bit exhausting but we are working on that.
Last year Ben married Ana Beth and they want kids but in a couple of years. I don't know what they are thinking. Ben sure is thrilled to have a nephew and so is Mike. Michael who hasn't married yet and I don't think he ever is going to get there. He does seem to have a serious relationship with this really nice girl, Disarray.
The supervising ended. Rick had left the house two years ago but what we didn't know was that he left cameras behind. Apparently he thought we were all faking to live happy so that Del and I could stay together. Embarrassing thing was that they even placed a camera on our bedroom and every time we would make love they could see. They erased those parts when we went to court and just left the good stuff, even the time when we fought because I wanted chocolate cake and Del refused to bake it unless it was with coated with strawberries. Other than that we were the 'perfect' couple. At the end they let me stay with Delany and sent Zach to jail together with my mom. They sent her in because she nearly provoked my death and sold me to strangers. It hurt but we all get what we deserve and my mom was a royal bitch.
I still don't know where my dad is. Patrick sort of visits sometimes...its weird though, he seems to care a little too much for all of us. He got us, Del, Kyle and I, a bunch of present last Christmas and the one before. He just sort of comes, drops off the gift, hugs and make small talk then leave after five minutes. I really did appreciate him helping me when I actually needed it but this was beyond his responsibility.
After a good six months of letting Joanne flirt with my husband I fired her. Seth, her brother, is still working for us but we rarely talk. Delany sort of has these hateful feelings towards him. The only staff working for us is the cook, Anne and Katie together with Patty. They are the best!
"Honey stay with me." Del chuckled as he chook me.
Huh I spaced out again.
I rolled my eyes. "You ask too much."
He pouted and I laughed at him. Patted his cheek not after placing my lips to his overly soft ones, I mean who wouldn't want to kiss someone who had those types of lips? They are just screaming to be raped!
