Delany:
"You only get five minutes, Mr. Thomson." the nurse gave me a flirtatious smile and got out.
What's up with her?
I'm a married man and mentioned that around ten times already. Shaking my head I walked over to where they were keeping my kid.
My kid, I'm a father now.
From the small crib I grabbed my baby, Kyle, and carried him gently. At the moment he's sleeping, his hair is black. Kyle was a little pale but they said it had nothing to do with his health.
"Mom will be ready to go soon, she'll love you a lot. I'm telling you she wont stop fussing over you. Overprotective she'll be, even I will have trouble carrying you." I felt really foolish for talking to a sleeping kid. But I'm allowed, I haven't seen my wife in what seemed like forever and now she's passed out. Scarlett woke up once but was too sedated and fell asleep instantly, I doubt she remembers all the nonsense.
Suddenly the baby started to cry and I felt a fist of panic on my stomach. "Shh. Shh. Calm down little boy. Crap what am I supposed to do?" I moved the baby slightly on my arms and began to hum a little, now I feel like a total idiot. The kid wouldn't fall asleep again. The nurse came back with a formula in her hand. Ah.
"I think its time for his meal, give him to me."
And I did. She began to feed him and my little Kyle grew quiet.
"He's so handsome. Looks like you." the nurse smiled.
"Kyle looks like his mom."
"Doesn't seem like it." she mumbled.
"Well you haven't met my wife, she's gorgeous. Take care of my kid will you?" I kissed Kyle's forehead and walked out to where everyone was waiting. And when I say everyone I mean everyone. My parents, my brothers, my best friends, my cousin, that's about the most important people in my world after my wife and my kid. Then I saw him leaning on the opposite wall.
"What are you doing here?" I stood face to face with Patrick guy.
"I brought Scarlett in, she might need me. Or something." he said easily.
"Need you? Hardly. She has me and that's all she needs." I wanted to beat the hell out of him for keeping Scarlett away from me.
"Calm down."
"You little-"
"Delany Thomson?" the doc called.
Instantly I went to the doctor. "That's me."
"Good. Your wife wants to see you. Follow me."
A knot formed on my stomach, was she really okay? The doctor opened the door to her room and then left. There she was laying on bed, pale. The doctor mentioned something about early birth and something to do with her stomach. Slowly I walked next to her and took her hand. A half smile covered her pretty face.
"How ironic don't you think? First it was you on the hospital and then here I am. Hopefully I don't look that bad, I feel awfully disoriented and-"
"Oh shut up."
Scarlett
After those words his lips pressed gently to mine. Yeah, this is right. I missed his touch, his presence so much. My hand took a hold of his and the other of his neck to pull him closer. The gentleness long gone, he traced the tip of his tongue along my lower lip. More than pleased I let him in. His hand squeezed mine harder, the other caressed my cheek and there was a cough.
