Four weeks.
Four long damn weeks have passed and I'm still held prisoner in my own mothers house.
Eight months. One more and my baby is born, I only pray to see Delany again before my baby is born. I miss him so much it hurts. He must be worried since my phone is broken and I couldn't call and warn him or anything.
Is he out of the hospital yet? Is he okay? How does he feel? How is he handling all this?
The need to know was eating me.
Its around five and I haven't gone to the kitchen since breakfast. I don't want to find them having sex in the kitchen again, it was so gross. One thing is that you have sex and it feels amazingly good if you're with the right person, another thing is to be hungry and walk down the hallway into the kitchen and find your mother on top of her boyfriend making weird noises.
A whole different thing.
A soft knock on the door startled me.
Why would my mom knock?
I went to open it and was surprised to find Patrick, standing there. He wore a purple t-shirt, the buttons undone, some faded jeans and his hair was sort of tamed. Hell he looked decent for the first time in this month.
He held a cup and a plate.
"These are for you. I'm sorry you found us like that." he cleared his throat. "You're pregnant and you need to eat. I gave your mother a month to look for another place to live, but you can stay here as long as you want." he smiled a little.
Patrick is sober.
Oh dear lord that's a damn miracle.
I frowned. "Why were you with my mom?"
He game me a half smile. "She's got a good body but too pushy. I got my job back and your mom is trying everything she can to get me drunk again. I went to rehab a few months before you came and I couldn't help temptation. Sorry if I did something disrespectful to you."
Wow. Speechless here.
"I'll leave this here." he placed the food on the small table in front of the bed.
"Patrick wait."
"Yeah?"
"Can you please get me a phone? I need to call my husband."
His eyes widened then he frowned. "You're married? But you are so young!"
"Yeah well things happen. So can you?"
"Sure. Wait why are you here then?"
"I uh, I'm underage and my husband is nineteen. My mom wants to put him in jail if I see him again. So please let me talk to him. Please Patrick."
He nodded. "Give me a second my phone is on the living room."
In less than a minute he was back, phone in hand. "Here."
I took the phone and dialed Del's number. Patrick left me alone so I could have some privacy and I waited for someone to get the phone. After four rings Delany finally picked up.
"Delany?!" I asked with tears in my eyes and a small smile.
"No. It's Erin. Who's this?"
Erin? "Scarlett. Erin please let me talk to Del."
"No. Plus he's sleeping, I doubt he'll want to talk to you after you walked out on him when my cousin needed you." she spat.
"Why would I do that?! I didn't want to Erin, its all my mom's-" I paused, took a deep breath. "Just let me talk to him its important."
