After waiting for about ten seconds, a hand appeared right in front of them, suspended in midair. It was a slim, long fingered girl’s hand with light purple nail polish. Selena grabbed Lance’s hand and placed her other one in the open palm in front of her. The hand grabbed Selena’s with a rather tight grip which led her to believe that it belonged to one of the generals.

The hand pulled and the ground left their feet. The feeling of being underwater started to disappear. They floated forward and suddenly landed on the ground. Selena’s suitcase hit the floor with a loud thud. The sudden impact of the ground on their feet made their knees buckle, but Selena was quickly pulled back to her feet. She looked up at the person holding her hand; it was Amelia Featherheart.

‘Amelia!’ said Selena.

‘Miss Selena,’ she spoke, ‘truly an honor to meet you again.’

‘Oh stop,’ said Selena airily, ‘how is Jazeerah holding up without her Empress and Princess?’

‘I’m afraid not very good,’ she replied with a sad face, ‘the army was too much distracted by the Empress’s battle that we forgot about the princess.’

Lance was looking around the throne room in awe. There was no one else there. The windows were covered by dark blue velvet curtain, obscuring the night view of Jazeerah. The throne room was also dimly light. It seemed strange without Cecile Silvermoon’s majestic presence.

‘It is honor to meet you again as well peacekeeper,’ Amelia addressed Lance.

‘Thank you,’ he said, ‘were you one of my friends?’

Amelia looked puzzled by the question. The truth was that they weren’t well acquainted. Amelia had laughed at Lance’s feminine side when she had met him and he had been rather annoyed at that. Other than that they hadn’t had much contact during their short stay in Jazeerah.

‘Um…’ Amelia was thinking.

‘Yes,’ said Selena, ‘she is our friend.’

‘What is your name?’ Lance asked her.

‘Amelia Featherheart,’ she said, inclining her head a bit, ‘I was so very sorry to hear of your memory loss but quite a feat; to defeat the demon general of Heliopolis.’

‘Did I?’ Lance asked.

‘So Amelia,’ spoke Selena, ‘have you met Rain, Seth or Misha?’

‘I ran into the oddity of Mictlan while I was delivering a message to the Father. I didn’t get a chance to meet Rain. And who is the other boy?’

‘I guess you don’t know,’ said Selena, ‘another friend.’

‘Miss Misha was doing well,’ said Amelia, ‘your friends have been training hard while you have been away, peacekeeper.’

‘Me too,’ said Lance.

‘Peculiar equipment,’ said Amelia, looking at his katana and his arm bracer.

Lance said nothing.

‘I don’t have the words to thank you,’ said Amelia, ‘the messenger told me about the conversation she had on earth. The council decided on calling him after three weeks but…’

‘Its no problem and no need for thanks,’ said Selena, ‘if Lance had chosen to abandon her, I would have had no choice but to believe that he lost his heart along with his powers and memories.’

Amelia was looking at Lance with a curious expression on her face.

‘Has he met someone from Jazeerah after losing his memories,’ she asked Selena.
