Eleven Months after the Freedom of Heliopolis…

Cecile Silvermoon, the Empress of Jazeerah stood in the balcony of her room on the second highest tower of her palace. For a first few days, it had not been the subject of her concern but slowly she began to get worried. The atmosphere was not normal. Thinking it was merely bad weather, she had discarded the strange behavior of the clouds as something trivial. But now, she was beginning to regret her ignorance. She had started the investigation but couldn’t ignore the uneasy voice in the back of her head saying that it was too late.

The clouds were taking spiral shapes quite close to her palace and almost on top of the prison. The empress had dispatched a team of mages to investigate and she could see the investigation team analyzing the phenomenon from the highest tower of the prison which had once held the oddity of Jazeerah. The shape of the clouds had gotten stranger by the day; three separate clouds were taking on the spiral shapes as if creating three holes in the sky. Several witnesses had reported seeing lightning flashing inside the clouds as well. Now the sky had started taking on black color and the insides of the now circular clouds seemed hollow.

The Empress thought for a while; her shield around the whole world was not weak. Some one had found a loophole to bypass her protection.

Then suddenly she saw it; a flash of light inside the black clouds. So, she thought, the witnesses were telling the truth.

She quickly turned around and looked at the highest tower of palace. Her daughter, Ayesha was there. A fifteenth grade general was protecting her without her knowledge.

An ear splitting crash made her whip around in shock.

CRASH! It came again and shook the entire palace. The sound was coming from the skies. She focused her gaze on the three holes. What she saw made her eyes widen in fright. There, reflected inside the hole was another ground.

‘A…a portal,’ she gasped.

CRASH! Another blast and something started emerging from the holes. The Empress didn’t wait to see what it was. She turned around and SWISH! She vanished with the speed of light.

In no time she was in the beautiful garden of her palace. Her strides were enormous. Her long robes of moonlight blue whipped behind her in the wind. The long bellbottom sleeves of her robes barely concealed her clenched fists. As the guards saw her approaching the gates, they ran forward to open but…

‘STEP ASIDE!’ she said in cold fury.

The warm and gentle Empress that they all knew was emitting aura of such rage that they froze at her command. The gate burst open with the force of her aura. One gate was even knocked off its hinges. It went flying and hit the ground with a huge crash.

The guards did not successfully withstand this aura, and were on their knees, having trouble catching their breath.

The Empress swept across the bridge that connected her palace to the floating island on which was the prison. The front doors of the prison were already open for her.

But she didn’t get the chance to step in.

BLAST! CRASH!

The force of the blast threw her off her feet. The ground shook as if about to be splintered in tiny pieces. The empress hit the wall of the prison with such might that it was reduced to rumble. Her extremely long hair flew open and her scarf (usually under her crown) was blown off her head. Her robes got torn and ripped.

She forced herself not stay dazed by the sudden blast too long and got to her feet. Then she saw the reason of the explosion.

A huge poisonous green pillar had emerged from one of the holes and had come vertically down. It had smashed a portion of the prison into tiny bits. The pillar was cylindrical and slimy. The Empress saw in dread, wondering what it was. Hundreds of her guards were lying around her, dead or unconscious, she didn’t know.
