‘Why did you enjoy the company of so many girls?’ asked Selena, ‘why not have too many guys as your friend?’

‘Because guys don’t talk to you with your head in their laps while they feed you grapes,’ said Seth.

‘Just admit it,’ said Selena, ‘you’re a pervert.’

‘Nah!’ he smiled, ‘I never had any desire for any of those girls. I know I know; they all liked me. I could tell. I just never went that far with any of them. I played and joked around, you know tease them like I do with you and Misha but nothing that extreme.’

‘Then why so many girl friends?’

‘Girls talk about things that I never noticed,’ said Seth, ‘my mind was so full of blood, cut off limbs, death, agony, screams of pains and other similar stuff that the words of those girls were so pleasantly strange. They talk about love, life, friendship and music. I understood nothing. Their words were like gibberish to me but you know, fascinating gibberish.’

They had reached the top and were now walking towards the tree under which Lance and Elair were sitting and talking.

‘Why are you and your family known as the Hydra?’ Lance asked Elair.

‘I have no idea,’ she said, ‘maybe because we always fight together. Even when I was only eleven years old my mother used to take me out on the battle field.’

Lance waited for a moment.

‘Can you shoot light beams from your eyes as well?’ he asked.

‘What?! No!’ she said, looking taken back by this sudden question, ‘that is a lost art. No one can use that again.’

‘Well,’ he said, ‘when Rain will learn how to fire light beams, I will ask him to fire from his eyes.’

‘Can’t be done,’ said Elair.

‘Rain can do anything,’ said Lance.

‘You sound like a little boy defending his father,’ said Selena walking towards them.

‘Oh Selena!’ he said, ‘you are back and you are smiling. What took you so long?’

‘Did you even bother to check?’ she asked.

‘Why would I do that?’ asked Lance, ‘Seth was with you.’

‘And who knows, he could’ve carved me up and turned me into some sort of Frankenstien monster,’ said Selena.

‘Well,’ said Lance, ‘then at least you could be useful in battle.’

Selena looked outrage. She ran at him.

‘Wait! Wait! Kidding! Kidding!’

BANG! POW! SLAP! KICK! BANG!

‘So,’ spoke Elair as Seth came and stood next to her, ‘she listened to you, huh?’

Seth nodded with a smile, ‘I knew she would. She is very much like Lance, except she has brains.’

Lance was on the ground with his hand on Selena’s face. Her finger was locked in his cheek as she pulled and she was holding his braid and pulling.

‘Lance?’ came a voice from the tree. They all looked. It was Rain. He looking at Selena and Lance’s position curiously, ‘you’re back?’

‘Did he just get that from this?’ Elair whispered in Seth’s ear.

‘Pretty much,’ Seth sniggered.

Rain was awake. It seemed that most of his injuries were healed. Lance nodded. A little drool oozed out from the side of his face.
