They were woken by Nage around eight am. They had been given animal skins to sleep on.

'Good morning,' said Nage, 'how was your night?'

'Great,' said Lance. Rain was already up and practicing outside on the platform. Misha was also up getting ready to move out. Axel was out checking on the zeppelin. Selena yawned. Her hair was a mess.

'Isn't there water on the Desolate Palm?' she asked.

'There is a boiling spring close to here,' said Nage, 'the water is so hot that getting near it would be impossible for you. I have already arranged for the water. You can freshen up.'

'Thank you,' said Selena.

They had carved the rocks into shapes of buckets and bowls. Selena used up most of the water and was barely any left for the rest of them.

'I wanna move out as soon as possible,' said Selena, 'we have a very large island to investigate.'

'I do not want to pry in your business,' said Nage, 'but if you could tell what you were looking for...I could probably help you.'

'Anything,' said Selena, 'I am not sure what I am looking for but anything strange or unusual on Desolate Palm.'

'All the time we have spent on the island, there is only one thing we have found. And it is not so strange. It's actually none of our business so we have left if alone.'

'What is it?' asked Selena.

'Nothing,' said Nage, 'just a big piece of metal.'

'Just a metal piece,' repeated Selena, 'anything else?'

'Nothing,' said Nage.

'I don't know if it is worth checking out or not,' she thought with her hand on her chin, 'is it very far from here?'

'If you go by winding, you reach fairly quickly,' said Nage.

'Ok, ok, ok, ok,' said Selena speaking to herself. Seth, Lance and Nage watched her interestingly, 'I don't want the trip to this island to be a waste of time. Well it is not since we got to know these people. But it is with regards to the riddle. There is nothing here worth investigating but a piece of metal. It wouldn't hurt to just check it out. Anyone could take me there.'

She looked at them.

'I wanna go,' she said.

'We can all go,' said Lance, 'can you take us there Nage?'

'Absolutely,'

They all got ready and went out. Rain was swinging his katana and practicing on his own. Sapphire was watching him carefully.

'Rain,' said Selena, 'come, we are going to check something out.'

Rain sheathed his katana.

'I will also come,' said Sapphire.

So the seven of them moved out. Nage was a little slow so they all had to wind at his level. The island had become even hotter but there was less wind and less sand in the air. The vision was clear and it was certainly a good feeling to move about the island without the sand cutting their skin with every winding step. Selena was riding on Lance's back after turning down numerous invitations from Nage. He had been outrageous of the fact the peacekeeper carries someone on his back. But, like everyone else they met on their adventures, he was beginning to realize that the peacekeeper was a very different person from what they had made him up in his mind. He soon started feeling his attitude become friendlier towards Lance despite himself. He asked questions about Lance's powers, his previous mission, different battles, all the while expecting to be told off by him. But Lance answered all the questions with quite a bit of modesty. By the time they left the mountain and travelled to the location, Nage and Sapphire were even more eager to assist Lance and his friends anyway they could.
