The hall lost all sound. It seemed like life had left the place. There was no sound of breathing, no whispering, no one moved a muscle and even the air became still and heavy. Lance’s head turned towards Lish. He could see her eyes wide with fear and shock. Selena also looked at Lance and then at Lish. Her eyes were visible from the eyeholes of her mask. He even heard her gulp. Nothing Seth had planned could prepare him to face the Lord of Mictlan.
‘My father didn’t tell me he was coming,’ Lish whispered. Her voice shook slightly. ‘It must have been decided later.’
From the portal emerged two people.
‘Brothers,’ Lish said breathlessly. Despite being in shock, Lance’s head turned in curiosity towards Misha and Lish's brothers. The elder brother had a look similar to Lish. He had wings of a moth and even a long tail of a raptor. His entire skin was reptilian but even with this skin crawling skin, there was a hint of good looks on his face like his sisters. He had a large claymore on his back. The younger brother had a different look. His skin was human looking but his back was jet black and had eight very long tentacles sprouting. The tentacles were slimy and also black color. He was wearing golden gauntlets on both hands and had two slim claymores on either side of his waist. Both of the brothers had good muscle defined built and were taller than Rain. Even in the uncomfortable environment of tension, there was a fair amount of giggling from some of the young noble girls. Both of them were wearing no armor. They wore normal trousers. Next came out an old man. He had white hair that reached his lower back. His face was skinny and he had a large bushy mustache that covered his upper lip. His skin was strange. It was like it was made from cement. It even had cracks.
Lance looked at Lish and she answered his unasked question.
‘Father,’ she said. Her father had a very savage look on his face. He looked like a strict person. There was a shoulder bag hung on his shoulder. He looked around the hall with his sharp green eyes. He stepped aside and bent on his knees with his head bent low. Every noble in the hall followed him. The entire hall was on its knees. Lish and Selena also went on their knees; the Lord of Mictlan was coming. Lance hated bowing in front of anyone let alone his enemy but he knew he had no choice; he had to give the mission priority over his own pride. As he bent his knee a bit to bow down with the rest of them, something strange happened. His legs became still as a metal bar. He tried to bend but the joints in his legs became sort of jammed. He straightened up and his knees became loose. His joints became free. He noticed that his body was trembling slightly. Almost everyone was down. He bent again but was denied the motion by his body. He tried to force himself. His legs didn’t budge. People behind him were starting to notice his delay.
‘Damn!’ he said under his breath with his teeth clenched. He was drawing attention.
‘I BOW TO NO ONE!’ a maddening voice rang in his head. It was inside his head but he was sure that the entire hall shook with the force of it. Lance placed his hand on his face. He felt like his entire skull was going to split open. What was happening? His vision was becoming blurry. The make up got off from the left side of his face as he brutally clenched the skin. He felt like his eyes were on fire. He was soon grunting in agony but was trying to stifle any sound coming from his mouth.
‘Lance!’ whispered Lish.
He heard her voice and tried to get on his knees but he became rigid again.
‘Bow down!’ hissed a noble behind him. Lish quickly released a considerable amount of aura to mask his humanness.
The portal glowed brighter than ever. In a very smooth motion, another man emerged. Lance was trying his best to stay conscious. With watering eyes, he saw who had come out and could only assume it was the Lord of Mictlan, Moltaar because the hall became radiant with his presence. The air was starting to feeling like something solid that was giving them Goosebumps. This man was the strangest thing Lance had ever seen. His entire body seemed to be made up of pure glass. He had a large chest but his waist was unnaturally slim. Selena had only one word for his appearance; beautiful. She had never seen something so eccentrically pulchritudinous. His eyes were blue and glowing. He had no hair on his head. Even though he was the lord of the world, he wasn’t wearing anything that made him stand out from the crowd. His attire was much simpler compared to the nobles in the halls. He was not wearing anything on his upper body. On his back was a royal looking cape of dark blue color. On his lower body, he wore a loose white trousers with a black veil held up by a white sash on his waist. He walked barefoot and tread very lightly. His every step made a beautiful tinkling sound. He had two silver gauntlets on his forearms. Moltaar was nothing any of them imagined him to be. His beauty was further decorated by a crystal crown on his head. There was a mark on the crown but it was impossible to make out from this distance.
