Rain was holding the katana in his left hand with an ice pick grip and the one in his right, normally. He was looking at eight Frowls running at him. He stood calmly. Selena was still on the Frowl Rain was riding. She had been reading the Saleem’s Journal, with Rain reading over her shoulder, as they traveled. Now she hastily put it back in her backpack. Seth was still unconscious but his wound was getting better. Selena was worried. She was aware of who were chasing Misha and Lance. She didn’t want Rain to fight such opponents. No matter what the outcome of the battle would be, to Selena each and every single one seemed bad. If he won, he would have killed his family. If he didn’t fight, his family would surely kill him.

Unaware of his friends’ troubled thoughts, Rain prepared himself for battle. Rain had come to rescue Selena but she was unable to see the new levels he had acquired. If Sin had taught him then surely he was strong, she thought, but Sin was a grade one general of Heliopolis. The woman hunting Rain was once the first grade general of Jazeerah. Even though the levels of grades also increase with the passage of time, Selena was sure that this woman had the advantage of Light energy whereas Rain was pure skill, strength and agility. But the thing worrying her most was that he was outnumbered not by mere soldiers, but by two more generals and his four sisters who were the up and coming prodigies of Jazeerah. Seth was in no condition to move let alone fight. Lance was going to fight, she knew that but how was a normal human going to hold against the ladies of Jazeerah. Her only hope was Misha.

‘Lance!’ shouted Misha, ‘take the reins.’

Lance grabbed the reins from her sides. She stood up on the back of the running Frowl.

‘Slow down once we reach Rain!’ she shouted.

‘Got it!’

As they got closer to Rain, Lance pulled the reins, the Frowl slowed, Misha jumped in the air and somersaulted, she was upside down in the air and she spun. She was holding kunai and knives in her hands. The seven riders behind them were showered by blades. Misha stopped spinning and landed cat-like next to Rain.

He looked at her from the corner of his eyes and smiled. She too grinned.

The riders of hydra jumped from their Frowls, evading the knives. The Frowls ran to the sides to escape the dangerous atmosphere. Lance stopped the Frowl and got off.

‘Hey Selena,’ he said. He quickly walked over to Rain and stood on his other side. This time Rain smiled quite widely.

‘We’ll catch up later, Lance,’ he said, ‘for now, lets focus on them.’

Lance, Rain and Misha now stood facing the seven members of Hydra. All the ladies removed their cloaks and threw them away. They were still in their prison clothes.

‘We’ve been looking for you,’ Telihum said to Rain.

He frowned and pointed at himself.

‘I’m a bit confused,’ said Rain, ‘why are the prisoners of Jazeerah attacking us. Aren’t we supposed to be allies?’

‘Who gave you a name oddity?’ asked Telihum, ‘the Empress?’

Rain pointed at Lance.

‘Did I?’ asked Lance.

‘I have come to take your life,’ she said.

Rain looked at Misha questioningly.

‘Did…did I do something wrong?’ he asked like a naughty school boy.

‘Yes,’ said Telihum.

‘Well,’ he spoke, ‘I don’t remember. But I am sorry for whatever I did.’
