The day after the war was exhausting but also relieving. Everyone was filled with happiness but no one forgot the brave shinobi who were lost along the way. I was informed that Jiraiya lost his life due to pain when I asked where he was. Even though I've come across so many deaths.. I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out. I wonder how hard it hit my mother. Or even Naruto considering he was his sensei. Jiraiya's death was kept hidden from me by pain because I guess he thought it wasn't something relevant enough to inform us about. I guess it is better that way. Who knows if I would still come this far knowing almost everyone I loved had died back then. I need to search for Itachi.

I walked through the battlefield. The bodies of dead shinobi were still there. Mountains on end. The world is cruel to have children fight in this war. Madara's idea wasn't wrong. There really is no right or wrong anymore. "Wow" I chuckled to myself as I slightly shook my head to get these thoughts out of my mind. The only thing I need right now is rest.

"Y/N? I've been searching for you,,"

I looked up to see Itachi running towards me. He immediately pulled me into a tight hug and buried his face in the crook of my neck. I smiled at his behavior. Running my i hand through his hair I asked. "Let's go. You look like you need some rest."

"Just let us stay here for a little while longer okay?." He mumbled. I could feel him grin against my skin. My heart started to beat faster. It seemed like I forgot what having him near me felt like.

"Itachi I've missed you so.. so much-"
I'll probably be the one to not let him go. I'm afraid if I let go for one second he will just slip away- Like last time. "Promise you won't leave. Promise to never leave me alone again." I gripped the fabric of his matt brown coat. And as I did so I shut my eyes.

Itachi pov

After her words I instantly pulled away so I could see her face. Her voice saying that made my heart skip a beat. I wanted to punch myself for ever leaving her alone.

"Y/N.. I promise. I promise to always stay by your side." I wiped away a teardrop that slowly made it's way down her cheek. "Let us go back to konoha." I said before leaving a kiss on her forehead. She then looked at me. Her eyes were so beautiful. I could stare at them forever, for all eternity.

"Please stop with this. You're making me puke."

We looked over to see my brother next to Sakura who his comment earned him a nudge from.

Sakura:"Sasuke just let them enjoy their moment."

Sasuke's annoyed expression made us all burst out laughing.

"Now you two shouldn't be talking." i snickered at my brother who blushed in synch with the Haruno after noticing their hands were entwined. Sakura immediatly let go of my brothers hand and looked away rushing towards some other shinobi.

Slowly everyone could be seen making their way from the land of lightning's coast back to their home.
We weren't exactly in an empty place. Even through so many forests it was still fully crowded. Sometime along the way I made sure to grab Y/N's hand or else we would drift apart.

My younger brother was already long gone by that point. He probably wanted to stick together with his team.

We both barely exchanged a word on the way but the silence was comfortable and soothing. Sneaking glances at her i could see her lips forming a slight smile in contrast to her eyes. She seemed worried yet relieved. It was an expression that I could understand. I simply gave her hand a small tight squeeze in hopes of reassuring her. Y/N looked at me slightly startled supposedly in thought.
