Itachi x reader

9.

In the morning all of us are gathered for the daily meeting. Well all except for Itachi who's lying on his bed staring holes in his ceiling.

Pain:"Y/N. You did a good job getting the blade. It's yours. You may do whatever you wish with it. Oh and here. Your ring."

I take the ring. It's blue and has "Kû" engraved on it. Meaning sky. I suppose this belonged to Orochimaru. I put the ring on my ring finger.

Tobi interrupts my thoughts.

Tobi:"Ya know if you put it on you can't remove it like.. ever. Hehe." (once put on, the Akatsuki Ring cannot be removed. Orochimaru, who was once part of this organization had to cut off his arm in order to not be bound to it anymore.)

"You tell me this now?! Gosh Tobi."

I'll definitely let my mother make me a finger off of Grandpa's cells when this is all over.

Konan:"Ehem. We'll now get to the moving part. We'll meet outside at three o clock sharp. Y/N I'll leave it to you to tell all the discussed things to the sick Uchiha."

I nod and everyone then goes back to whatever they were doing.

Knocking on his door I get a slight -come in- and nothing more.

Y/N:"Hi. How are you doing?"

I sit down next to Itachi who's now sitting aswell.

Itachi:"everything's fine. I feel a lot better thanks to you. So what did the leader think of our mission?"

I then go on to tell him about everything discussed.

Out of all the things his mind wanders to the ring.

Itachi:"You should've said that you wont wear it. This is definitely not good. How will you ever replace this with a wedding ring?"

I don't think he realized what he just said because he's picking up my hand with the ring and inspecting is closely.
Not flustered at all. He's so calm the opposite of me.

Y/N:"I-I dont think it'll be a problem... I'll just let my mother make an artificial finger. Of course for you too. Unless you want these to be the wedding rings?"

He lets go of my hand but is still staring at the ring closely.

"It'd be too much trouble to buy new rings. Wouldn't it? If anyone asks that is your wedding ring."

I stand up startled. He shouldn't say these things so carelessly people might get a heart attack.

"I'll just- I'll get your..breakfast. Right breakfast!"

I leave the room without looking back.

Itachi Pov

She's so taken a back..It's cute. I let out a soft chuckle as she leaves the room.

We were saying things about the supposed current hokage (Tsunade as of right now) so carelessly not because we are idiots but because I have checked my room for anything that might be dangerous. The only thing is the body heat projector. But thankfully that doesn't send any sounds to the watcher.

It might take a while for her to return so I already start packing things. Though I do not own anything special it still might take a while organizing all the weapons.

After a few minutes she returns with that familiar tray. I guess Kakuzu really doesn't like for us to spend.

Laying the tray on the bedside table she runs towards me taking the things from my hands and pushing me to sit down. Like mother like daughter I assume.

Y/N:"What were you thinking? I know you're some really respected and well trained shinobi maybe even one of the best but in this state you are not capable to lift such heavy objects."

"Y/N I'm no woman who is six months pregnant."

I sigh.

"Also I'm not glass that can break. Please do not worry so much."

She finally sets the stuff down and looks at me.

Y/N:"I'm sorry. It was insensitive of me to treat you that way. But please don't overwork yourself."

I nod. This is the first time so one got so worked up because of me. (Someone who isnt family)

We then both finish everything up and go out since she already packed everything this morning. Oh right i forgot to eat my breakfast.. she won't know if I don't tell her. Right?

Since then every time I think about it i smile. We were assigned different partners because Zetsu thought me an Y/N worked well together. Did he perhaps wander so far out with us last time? I should be more wary of him.

Also the masked Uchiha was now officially part of the Akatsuki though of course he has a bigger plan. He is the real leader after all.

Though the possibility is still there that there's a third person behind the shadows-

"You alright? You've had a frown for quite a while by now."

How can she notice that? We're trees apart and moving incredibly fast. Y/Ns eyes are more impressive than mine.

Itachi:"Nothing important. We shall not become slower because of our conversations."

Was that too harsh? God I should truly control my words.

"You're right.. The others aren't far away from us if that worries you."

I know. I know exactly where they are. But I also know that you are clenching your fist right now Y/N.

A few hours later

We arrive before the others since we did not take any breaks.

On the way I have chosen to distance myself from her a bit. Some might hurt her because of me.
I know she is very well capable of handling herself but I cannot imagine what strengths have not been discovered by us humans yet.
Our evolution is still on going.

Kisame:"You really left me to be with this chat box for a girl? I did not expect this from you Uchiha."

He grins but looks exhausted. Probably halfway because of the masked Uchiha's charades but also because of simply carrying that heavy blade around.

I say nothing to answer his question. It is not like we are allies. Or friends. We are just people working together.

Though Kisame really is the one out of the Akatsuki who seems to understand me.

Y/N Pov

We all sit on a huge rock waiting for the others. Deidara and Sasori will be coming from above, pain and Konan are probably already inside but won't let us in until they're finished doing their checkups and Kakuzu and Hidan have probably fought a dozen times already that's why they're late.
