~*~Chapter 14~Fun, right?~*~

I have officially dropped out of middle school; however, I still have high school to attend. Being that I can detect lies from pretty much any breathing creature, I knew Presley meant what he said about everything. They were done going after Nat, but there was something big that was coming in my life and not a single human or supernatural knew what it was.

So, to pass the time I have to go back to school. My eight days are up and have been spent, probably not so wisely but that’s part of being a teenager right?

Kobal supposedly dropped the college class he was in and is no longer student teaching. I rolled my eyes at the dork as he told me some bull crap story about how he feels he should be going back to high school to actually graduate.

He’s meant to be a senior with Anser and I but he just quit showing up. He never actually filed that he was dropping out.

So, now, I’m walking into school Anser and Kobal standing at my sides with nothing but dread in my gut. I was truant for a very good reason, school sucks ass. Graduating is something my father is requiring of me though and I only have a couple more months, thank who ever.

I leaned against the wall as the students shuffled passed going to greet their friends or whatever. I stared at them all. The popular group was visible from my positioning against the school building. Those were the ones I was truly concentrated on.

Kobal, Anser, and Lucy were all talking about some sucky TV show on Disney. Why they would watch such a channel who knows. I just ignored them as I stared down the interesting group.

They all wore the expensive clothes and the hand gestures the girls talked with had me laughing at how ridiculous they looked. I spotted the boy from the day I got suspended in with the group talking away with some of the guys. He looked so much cockier around his friends than he did the day I met him. He looked over at me and smirked before using a hand gesture trying to get me to come over.

I didn’t budge in the slightest from my spot. In fact the only movements I made were the raising of my right hand and then my middle finger. I saw him say something to his group of guy friends before they all turned to me, took a good gander, and started to walk towards me.

They only got a couple steps before I caught a familiar face heading towards. The smile he wore made me want to punch him so, so badly. Due to my father’s rules though, I couldn’t make the first move.

I glanced over to my friends to see what they were thinking but they weren’t there. Oh for crying out loud. I let my head fall back against the wall as I awaited everyone’s arrival.

“Welcome back, Mystery Girl.” Well, damn, the jock made it first.

“Go away, Pretty Boy. I have a feeling shit is about to hit the fan and if you don’t leave know you’ll end up in it.” I said in all seriousness but still didn’t lift my head to look at him.

“Now, now, Princess, what would your mother say to you talking to a handsome young man like that?” Gray’s words stung. I instantly lifted my head to glare at the asshole.

“That was a low blow Gray, besides it’s not like you knew her to be able to say such a thing about her.”

“I know everything about her; more than you probably ever have. That however, isn’t why I’m here, Jezzie.”

“Don’t fucking call me that.” I growled. The jocks weren’t moving away, so I had to put up a cover to hide my eyes.

“Why not, Sweetpea, I thought by now we’d be considered friends.” I released a bitter laugh.

“That’s cute, really, now get to the point.”

He smirked and tucked his hands in his pockets. “I just came to check up on ya, Jezebeth. You know see how you were doing. I thought that was something friends would do.”

I snorted. “What are you two on about, or should I say all of you? First Presley showed up and now you, who is coming tomorrow, Riley?”

“Well it’s between her and Phoenix. They’re actually arguing, we might just have to let them both.”

“Or how ‘bout you damn, assholes, mind your own business.”

“Ahh, now you see, you are our business, Jez. Whatever it is that is meant to be going on with you, we need to stop it but we have to know what it is exactly to do so. You’re our own little lab experiment. Welcome onto the ride to hell.”

“That was a cute line, how long did is take you to think it up?”

“A couple days actually,” he shrugged before backing away, “see ya around, Jezebeth.”

I mumbled, “I hope not,” but loud enough for him to hear me. I turned to the faces of the jocks and glared. “Why are y’all still here?” They said nothing, they actually didn’t even blink. What the hell. I stood there staring at them staring at me for several minutes. Eventually I poked the kid from the other day and he fell over, just like a statue. No one else was around since the bell rang a little after Gray showed up.

I slipped through the gap I had just created pushing the kid over and walked off to class. This was definitely the best course of action. Showing up the class late the day you return from suspension; suspension in which you got from being truant. I couldn’t help but laugh at the irony in my situation. The second I realized there are statue turned football players outside I went back to my problem solving in my mind.

How the hell did they freeze like that?

The entire day flew by with me spacing out trying to figure out what had happened. The boys were back to normal chatting away, and each and every one of them bowed their head every time I looked in their direction, almost as if they were trying to pay me respect.

It was the last class of the day and the boy from before was staring at me. I ignored it to the best of my abilities before snapping at him. “What are you staring at you little prick?”

He bowed his head, “The name is Ashton, sorry, master.” My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Is this kid from the loony bin?

“Did you just call me master?” he nodded but said nothing. “Why, Ashton, why did you just call me master?”

He smiled before speaking, “You will find out soon enough, on your eighteenth birthday.” The second he finished his sentence he froze again. I poked him the entire rest of class calling out his name as the teacher slept up front.

After what felt like seventy billion pokes he turned to face me. “Why is it that I can’t remember anything from the day passing?” He looked at me with scared eyes.

Mine grew twice their normal size. How did I not realize this before?
