~*~Chapter 15~Puh-lease~*~

I’d been staring at Ashton, zoned out, for quite a while now. He seemed as though he were trying to figure out what all had been going on all day. I knew, I’d never tell him, but I knew. How didn’t I see it? Hell, how didn’t Gray see it?

I’m sure had he know those boys were all possessed by the worst demon known to man he would’ve done something. He has the power to rid them from those boys. What if he wanted me to see them?

I mentally snorted, that would seem to be Black Wings behavior. When I refocused I saw Ashton waiting expectantly for my answer.

I didn’t really have to put much thought behind what I was going to say, fooling him seemed quite easy. “I haven’t the slightest. I’m not you guardian angel, how would I know?”

He opened his mouth to reply but quickly shut it again. I wanted so badly to reach out and pat him on the head while saying, ‘good little fishy.’

I sat on my hands to stop the temptation and bit my lip to keep from laughing. Eventually the fishy was able to speak actual words. “Sorry for asking.” He abruptly turned around but that didn’t keep me from hearing him mutter the word ‘bitch’ at me.

I just laughed before leaning towards his desk to the left of mine. “You have no idea,” I whispered and stood up. The second I was at full height the bell rang signaling us to go home.

For me it seems like it’s going to be a long night. Between talking to my father and trying to figure out what everyone is on about, it ought to keep me up all night.

Something big was going to happen in my life and it froze me on the spot every time I thought about it. I thought losing almost all of my family was something big, how could it get bigger.

It was Saturday at last. I’d had a total of thirty minutes of sleep in the past forty-eight hours. I’d been running errands for my dad like crazy hopping to keep my mind from wondering. Paranoia never has and never will be my thing. I ignore problems until I come face to face with them. It gives me no time to worry.

I felt hot breath blow my hair and an arm wrapped around my abdomen. “What are you thinking about?” His deep voice pulled me out of my thoughts once again.

“My life,” I replied. No point in lying. I wouldn’t do to him what I would hate for him to do to me.

Minor turned my face towards his. “I don’t know what those demons were talking about but we will find out in twelve days so relax. Whatever it is we can get through it. They could even just be trying to mess with you. It’s what they are made to do. They are the demons of persuasion.”

I sighed in defeat. He was right, this time. He rolled his eyes knowing exactly what I was thinking. He rolled off his side onto his back before talking again. “Tell yourself what you want, but I’m always right, Angel.”

He tried pulling me into his side but I just pulled out of his grasp. “Where do you think you’re going?” He sat up, leaning on his elbows. He had one, sexy, eyebrow raised as he stared me down.

“Anywhere away from mister know it all.” I stood up and he tried to grab ahold of my hips to trough me back onto the bed. I took off running.

I heard him grunt when I got to the door, “Oh no you don’t.” I took off running knowing the grunt meant he was finally pulling himself out of bed.

I screeched as I took off down the stairs. When I saw my dad, Oson, and his three children sitting at the table in the dining room I figured that to be the best route. Before I could get into the room though, I was scooped up. I screeched out, “Daddy, don’t-don’t let him take me away!”

Minor popped his head around the wall and smiled at our crowd, then continued to pry my hands away from the door. Ronnie’s voice broke through my please for my father’s help and Minor’s grunting. “I don’t see what the problem is. You have a very sexy man trying to get you alone and you’re begging for someone to save you,” she stood up and took a step towards us, “I’d gladly take your place.” I shook my head yes trying to hold my laughter in as I felt Minor stop struggling with my hands.

“Ronnie, I like you and all but uh not in the relationship kind of way.” He released me and scratched his neck awkwardly as Ronnie and I busted out laughing. We both walked out of the room still laughing. As I passed Minor I slapped his ass and winked. I began to laugh again as Ronnie did the same thing.

I plopped down on my couch as Ronnie turned on the TV and began surfing. I rolled over burying my face in the side of the couch as I lay on my stomach. When I felt a ton of weight on my arse I grunted. People really do enjoy sitting on me.

“Get yo ass off my ass.” I grumbled into the pillows.

“Sorry, no can do. I need your cushiony butt to help take the sting off mine. There isn’t a softer seat in the house.”

I gasped, “What are you trying to say Minor! I suggest you think before you speak little boy.”

He shifted so he was hovering over me, giving me just enough space to flip around. He kissed my neck up to my jaw as he replied. “That you have one sexy, bubbly ass.”

His lips were now hovering above my own. “Is that so?” I whispered.

In a breathy tone he whispered back, “Oh, most definitely, Angel.”

I closed the little gap between our lips. I laughed into the kiss as I heard Ronnie complain about Minor and I being a gross reminder of her nonexistent love life.  Minor ended the kiss not long after she finished her statement. He looked over at her as he sat up and placed me on his lap, wrapping his arms around me.

“You could very well have a love life if you would just open your damn eyes.” Minor said in a light tone.

Ronnie sighed and turned back to the TV, “Just drop it okay, Azael doesn’t like me like that.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” a new voice joined our conversation. I giggled as Ronnie’s head snapped towards Azael.

I stood up and pulled Minor to his feet and headed out of the room so we could give the two of them privacy.

“Finally,” I whispered once we were out of their hearing range. Damn, it sure took them long enough.

"Yeah, all thanks to me."

I shoved my jerk of a boyfriend lightly, "it so is not, you big headed jerk."

He grabbed his chest as though I had caused him actual pain. "You. Don't. Mean it, you couldn't possibly." He looked off into the distance and placed the back of his hand to his forehead.

"That was the worst acting I've ever seen, Minor." He chuckled before placing his arm around my shoulders as we walked towards the basement. He pulled me into his side and placed a kiss on top of my head.

"At least, you love this big headed jerk with bad acting skills."

I smiled up at my jerk, “at least."
