guys i am so so so so sorry for going on a hiatus for about 4 weeks i've just recently been very upset and self conscious about my writing and just been pretty busy and sick a lot lately but you reallyyyyy wanna be here for chap 30 :)
Aimee called me the next day. I wanted to throw my cell phone at the door to shut it up, but I knew I shouldn't have isolated myself for too long. I answered the call and sighed deeply.
"Hey, Aimee."
"Hey. So, I was wondering if you could come over sometime tonight? Anne will be here too."
"Yeah, what time?" I looked at the clock.
"I was thinking as soon as you're ready? I just got off work, so I'm gonna pick Anne up and then take her back to my place. We're gonna stop at the drugstore too, so what candy and ice cream do you want?" I was about to tell her I was fine, but then I remembered she was rich.
"Sour patches and coffee ice cream. I'll be over in like thirty minutes." With that, I hung up.
I ran down the stairs to get Jake. He was seated at the kitchen table eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I always hated them, but my grandma would never stopped making them.
"Can you drive me to a friend's house?" I rocked back and forth on my heels.
"Boy or girl?" Jake looked up from his sandwich.
"Girl..." I replied cautiously.
"What's her name?" Jake stood up from the table and slipped on his shoes.
"Aimee Leben. Anne will be at her house too."
"Fine. Are you ready to go?"
I quickly ran up the stairs and shoved a few different clothes and necessities into an empty bookbag. It only took me about three minutes. Jake and I got into the car and I typed in Aimee's address into his GPS. I was actually pretty excited to see Aimee and Anne. I was just gonna pretend that nothing had happened between me and Anne.
When I got there, the girls came rushing out to the car and hugged me. I said my goodbyes to Jake and followed Aimee inside and up to her room. I smiled at the memory of Nate and I in her room at her party. I had to call him.
"Okay, so I got you your stuff. We were planning to watch a Friends marathon." Aimee said.
Anne was already eating her twix bars, "Oh my god, yay."
"Sounds good."

Three hours later, Anne was crying over Ross and Rachel getting together. Aimee didn't want to start from the beginning. I paused the tv just as the next episode was beginning.
"So Aimee, what's up with you and Luke?"
"I don't know...things have been pretty amazing recently. We're still in the beginning of our relationship so there's a lot of,"
"La la la la la!" Anne covered her ears as she cut her off from finishing her sentence and I threw a pillow at Aimee.
"What? Grow up, you guys." Aimee chewed on a few watermelon sour patches.
"What about you, Anne? Anyone chasing after you?" I turned towards Anne and smiled slightly.
"I've gotten a few numbers from cute people at the diner. Davie is kinda upset about my 'constant flirting.'" she giggled and wrapped herself in a blanket.
"I bet he is." I chuckled to myself.
"Cali, what's going on with you? Last I heard, you were with Nate. What ever happened to Justin? I thought you guys liked each other?" I groaned at Anne's questioning.
"Nate and I are kind of in a fight. Justin and I have always just been friends."
"Liar," Aimee said under her breath.
"What?" I turned to Aimee. I blinked at her, taken aback.
"I'm not saying you guys cheated or had some wild affair, I just know you guys have feelings for each other. Justin called me about that kiss."
I stared ahead blankly, "Yeah, we kissed. I kissed him though. It was after him and Tamara had broken up too. It's not really a big deal..."
"Didn't he tell you already, though?" Aimee squinted her eyes at me.
"Aimee," I stared back at her.
"Oh my god," Anne piped up. I was just happy she didn't sound pissed.
"Yeah, he told me he liked me after he had previously called me nothing but a charity case to him." I bit at my fingernails and stared at Aimee's beige carpet.
"Oh my god," Anne said again, her eyes wide open.
Aimee squealed in delight and fell back onto her bean bag chair.
"Why are you guys reacting like this?" I rocked back and forth.
"You need to tell him how you feel, Cali." Anne said.
"I already did. I told him."
"You told him that you like him too or you shouted for him to get out?" Aimee cocked her head and rolled her eyes at me.
"Okay, so maybe I told him to get out, but that pretty much means I don't feel the same." I stood up in defense for myself and sat down onto Aimee's bed.
"Just think about it maybe?" Aimee smiled at me and pat my knee.
I closed my eyes and leaned back onto Aimee's bed. I thought about everything involving us. I thought about the span of our crazy relationship. I thought about our kiss. I thought about what he had taught me. His smile, his eyes, his personality, our memories and just everything about him was starting to haunt me at that very moment in time. I shot back up.
"Oh my god, I like him."
