Aimee and Anne sat with their mouths gaping. I didn't know what to say next. I was just as surprised as they were.
"Oh my god, you need to tell him." Anne said. I felt like I was in middle school again.
"We should drive to his place!" Aimee offered.
"No, I can't do that. That'd be awkward having you guys there. I don't know." I stood up from Aimee's bed and ran a hand through my hair. I bit down onto my lip and tugged at the skin.
"We'd park like a little less than half a block away. He wouldn't be able to see us." Anne jumped up from her spot on the floor.
"Please," Aimee stood up too.
"Get your keys." I smiled at the ground. I was gonna do this. I just wasn't really going to think about it.

"Are you ready?" Anne turned around from the passenger seat to look at me.
"No." I replied casually as I stared blankly out into the road.
"Just take deep breaths and focus on why we came in the first place. Okay?" Aimee unbuckled her seatbelt and turned the car to the accessory setting.
"Okay..." I unbuckled my seatbelt and held onto the door.
"You can do it." Aimee smiled at me.
Anne nodded her head at me. I stayed put.
"Get out of my car." Aimee groaned.
"Okay, I'm going, I'm going." I took a deep breath and stepped out of the car.
I walked along the sidewalk and stopped at the beginning of Justin's driveway. I noticed only his truck was there and not his father's car. I swallowed down the lump in my throat and walked farther up the driveway. I sighed and stopped for a few moments. My hands were clammy and my heart was beating faster than ever. I walked up to the porch and lifted my hand to ring the doorbell. I pressed the button and contemplated running like hell.
I stood my ground, unable to move. My throat started to close up on me. I rubbed my hands together and started to breathe pretty heavily. I tucked my hair behind my ears but then untucked my hair when I decided against the action. The night sky seemed to swallow me whole as the front door swung open. My eyes were stinging with potential tears as I looked on to the figure in front of me.
"Cali?"
"Tamara?" I stood in shock at the blonde.
"Well, hi." She crossed her arms and glared at me.
"What're you doing here?" My voice cracked as I tried to maintain myself.
"Surprised to see me? Justin called me. He said he needed me to be here because he still loves me. He told me he made a mistake. I'll tell him you stopped by, okay?" She tried to shut the door, but I wedged my foot in between the door and the doorframe. I pried the door open and glared back at Tamara.
"Bullshit, Tamara." I tightened my jaw.
"It's the truth. Do you wanna ask him yourself?" she challenged.
"Who's at the door, Tamara?" I heard Justin's voice come from inside the house.
"I guess I'll just leave." I retracted my foot as the door was slammed in my face. My feet still stood frozen on the ground.

"It was just Jennie. She came to check up on me. I told her I would be here." Tamara innocently smiled at Justin.
"Okay. You could've invited her in, you know?" Justin sat down onto his couch.
Tamara had randomly shown up a few hours earlier completely drunk. Justin had been trying to sober her up so her parents wouldn't kill her when she went home. However, his mind wasn't exactly on taking care of Tamara.
"Are you sure no one else stopped by along with her?" he questioned. Tamara shook her head and plopped down onto the couch all too close to him.
"Thank you for helping me today. It really meant a lot to me that you did that. I mean, no one else has ever cared about me like you do. Justin, I miss you." she placed a hand on his knee.
"Tamara..." Justin began.
"You don't have to say anything to me." she brought a hand to his face and turned his head towards her.
Tamara leaned in towards Justin and he leaned back onto the couch. Justin placed both of his hands on her hips and froze in position. She smiled down at him and leaned down to press her lips to his. He squeezed his eyes shut and kissed her back. He felt coldness, but most importantly, nothing. Justin felt nothing kissing her. He quickly took his hands off of her hips and opened his eyes. He couldn't pretend anymore. He couldn't be with someone when his heart belonged to someone else.

"Well," I paused to wipe the obvious tears from my face, "Tamara was there." The three of us sat in Aimee's car together.
"Are you kidding me?" Anne looked back at me with her mouth open.
"This is so stupid. Why am I even crying?" I let out between grotesque sobbing noises.
Aimee reached back to hand me some tissues from the glove compartment, "I'm gonna kill him for this, okay? You don't have to worry about anything. I'm gonna figure this out for you." she turned back to the front of the car and turned the engine on.
"That's okay, Aimee. I don't want to know."
