As my profile says, I am a young writer in the works of publishing a two part novel. I just thought I'd like to mention that again because it means a lot to me.

Opposites is copytrighted and may be getting published after my novels debut but until then, here you have it. Thank you so much for reading, it means the world to me.

Seven came too quickly. I had went home and changed into a blink 182 tee shirt and capris and had come back to the diner. Mack had pulled up in a red pick up truck. He honked the horn when he saw me

“You look great.” he said as I climbed into the passenger seat. The other guy was in the back.

“Thank you.” I took out my ponytail and brushed my fingers through it.

“Blink 182? What’s that?” Mack asked. Was he serious?

“It’s an old band.” The guy in the back said before I could answer.

“Oh,” Mack turned on the radio to a heavy metal station. I had to fight every urge in my body not to turn the radio off.

“Will you turn that off, please?” The guy in the back asked. He didn’t seem friendly at all.

“But, Justin, this is good music.”

Finally figured out his name.

We sat in silence the rest of the way as the music rang throughout the car. I was so grateful as soon as I escaped the vehicle. Justin looked like he felt the same way I did. Mack reached for my hand and I wrapped my fingers around his. Anyone who was like Anne described deserved to be lead on. I was going to try to lead him on the best I could without actually getting swept up in the fact that I was being desired by anyone except for Mason.

“Justin!” The blonde girl from the diner called.

“Hey, Tamara.” He put his arm around her and they walked inside.

Mack and I stepped in after them and the stench of liquor hit me as soon as I stepped through the door. Mack let go of me and walked over to the cabinet. He took out a bottle of scotch and opened it.

“How did you know that was there?” I was curious.

“It's my party.”

Of course it was. The house was enormous and screamed that the family had all of their children attending a perfect little private school and the parents had great jobs and probably a few poodles or something like that.

“Are your parents out of town or something?” I hoped I didn't seem too nosy.

“Yeah, they usually go out for a business trip every few months. They're doctors so they usually attend seminars or something like that. I don't know and I don't really care.” He smiled at me and took a swig of the scotch.

“You drink?” He asked.

“Um, yes.” I took the bottle out of his hands and took a swig. It was pretty strong. When I was dating Mason, I usually went to parties or just hung out with him and his friends and everyone drank, so I decided to too. I didn't drink too often but enough that the scotch barely burned going down my throat.
