Justin was waiting for Tamara when he realized Cali was nowhere to be found. Immediately, he was worried. Not because he cared so much about her, but because she was special for some reason. Justin would be worried about anyone but Cali was different. He saw himself in her.

He wasn’t having feelings for her and he didn’t want to be best friends, she was just some reminder to him. A reminder of who he is and who he wants to be. Justin quickly went over to Aimee who he had last seen Cali with. He just had to make sure Cali wasn’t off partying or hooking up with some guy. When he saw Mack and Cali together, it pissed him off so much and he couldn’t understand why. All Justin knew was that Cali was the only thing on his mind.

“Aimee,” he called. She turned around to greet him.

“Hey,” She dragged out the y in the hey and realized she had probably been drinking either from someone else or had brought her own flask again.

“Do you know where Cali went? I haven’t seen her for a while.”

“I thought she might’ve went to go hang out with some other people. She said she barely knew anyone so I guess she wanted to fix that. If you know what I’m saying...” Aimee wiggled her eyebrows and walked off before Justin could even reply.

He walked around the perimeter of his house a few times and asked if anyone had seen a blue haired girl walking around and where she may have gone. No one was sure. Justin was pretty pissed off at this point. For all he knew, she could have tried to walk home when it was actually beginning to become dark out. She couldn’t be in that bad of a situation right? She was probably fine and he was just worrying about nothing…

Mason opened the door to his front house for me and I walked through. The house was one floor and kind of small but it was sufficient for just Mason, his little brother, and his mom. However, neither of them were there at the house. I tried to keep calm of the situation.

“Where are your mom and Trace?” I turned to Mason. He flicked the lights on and sat down at the table.

“Trace is at our Dad’s and my mom’s at work.” He motioned for me to sit down across from him at the table.

“I’m so grateful you picked me up, really.” I told him. I pushed my hair behind my ears and smiled at him. He smiled at me too.

“I’m glad you asked me to.” Mason leaned over the table and propped himself up on his elbows.

“I just...I really miss you. I want to go back to our relationship where everything was good. When neither of us did anything to hurt the other. I want that relationship where we would drive around for hours and then just come crash back at your place. I miss that.” Mason looked confused.

“Cali, I just want you. I’m sorry for being a terrible boyfriend. I just really want a second chance. I still love you. I love you so much.” Then why’d you beat me? I quickly pushed the negative thought out of my head. That was the past. This was now.
