Summer's Point of View

I smiled as the forest rushed passed me. It was sprinkling lightly, but that didn't matter.

I laughed when my horse Draco jumped a fallen log. I loved my horse shows, and Winter and I took them super seriously. Sometimes even more seriously than school.

Thank the gods that Dad let us have the day before a show off from school to finish up our practice.

"Hey Winter!" I called, slowing Draco down as I looked around. I didn't recognize this part of the forest, and I didn't think I'd been there before.

"Winter?" I called again when she didn't answer the first time.

I patted Draco's neck before sliding off his saddle. I took his reins and looked around, not sure where to go.

A sudden, horrible feeling sank in, and I knew I was lost.

"C'mon buddy." I said, turning to walk back the way I'd come. It seemed the best way to find my way back to a part of the forest that I recognized.

I thought I heard a noise from somewhere around me, and looked around, slightly scared.

Calm your jets Summer. It's not like there's kidnappers or anything like that here, right?

I thought, giggling nervously. Draco nickered, shaking the reins free of my grip. I grabbed them again, worried that he'd run off and I wouldn't be able to get him back.

Another noise happened closer, and Draco neighed, rearing. He pulled the reins out of my hand and bolted.

"Draco!" I yelled, chasing after him. "Come back here!"

I didn't hear the shout until it was too late. A gun fired and I collapsed, losing my breath.

So Draco is the bay with a blaze, and it's not the Draco from the Harry Potter series. It's pronounced Drack-oh
