Taylor's POV
A black shiny car pulled up next to me, it was familiar and I knew it was Damon. I looked into the car to find him giving me a worried look.
He opened the door for me and I got in. It was completely quiet in the car but it was comfortable, I was happy he didn't ask any questions cause I wasn't ready to talk.
He kept giving me side glances as if he wanted to ask what was wrong but knew it wasn't the right time. I was grateful for that.
I placed my head on the cool glass of the window and watched as trees, buildings, cars passed by in a blur. I realised that we were not heading back to his apartment but out of town instead.
I trusted him, not as if he was going to kill me, so I didn't ask any questions.
We pulled up in the driveway of a fancy looking hotel. We got out of the car and Damon handed the valet the keys.
"Good evening Mr Knight" he said, Damon responded with a curt nod. Sounds like he visits this place a lot. "Evening Mr Knight" the receptionist greeted when we got to his desk, she spared me an irritated glance before looking back at Damon.
I felt extremely uncomfortable, like some one night stand. I bet that was what the receptionist was thinking, and the way I was dressed wasn't helping. They talked for a while, I wasn't really paying attention, he got the keys to a room and led me to the elevators.
I still had no idea why we were here. The elevator finally came to a stop and he led me to a room, scratch that a suite. It was huge and I felt completely out of place as Damon walked to the kitchen area asking me if I wanted anything which I politely declined.
I took off my shoes and placed them by the couch, my feet were killing me. I went into the kitchen area where he was and sat down on one of the chairs at the island and waited for him to get off the phone.
"That was Kyrn, she wanted to know how you were" he said once he got off the phone, staring at me with the same worried look on his face.
"Why are we here" I finally asked. He ignored me and asked, "do you want anything" I declined again and he picked up the phone calling room service this time.
I was getting irritated now and my earlier thoughts and the look the receptionist gave me came back. She didn't look surprised that Damon had brought a scantily dressed girl to a hotel. She probably thinks I'm a hoe now, how annoying, and Damon refuses to tell me why we are here. It can't be for sex.
Thinking about that made my cheeks burn a deep red. I mean, how many women had he brought here for that purpose.
"Are you okay, you look red" he said standing next to me and I jumped out of surprise, I didn't notice that, guess I was so lost in my thoughts. "I...I'm fine" I stuttered happy he couldn't read my thoughts.
"Well I ordered dinner should be here any minute, you don't mind chicken?" he asked and I shook my head.
"Damon why are we here" I asked again as we sat down on the couch. He sighed kicking his feet up on the table, "I was on my way here to meet up with someone when you called, you seemed really upset and I know if I take you back home Kyrn's gonna ask a lot of questions and you look like you don't need that right now" he explained.
"Oh" I whispered, well that makes sense and also very thoughtful. A blush found it's way up to my cheeks. "Thanks, but what about your meeting, feels like I'm intruding" I told him feeling really bad about it.
"No it's alright, you can stay in the bedroom while he's here" he said and I nodded. We stayed in silence for a while with him texting on his phone and me just looking around the suite.
"Ready to tell me what happened" he asked breaking the silence. Should I tell him? I mean he's already done enough for me, letting me stay at his place, feeding me, buying me new clothes, and also listening when I told him about my dad, he's done a lot. I don't need to bother him with my stupid problems.
I heard him sigh as he shifted closer to me on the couch. He took my hands in his, his hands were bigger than mine and rough. I always thought there was no such thing as sparks and butterflies in your stomach when someone you like touches you, like you see in all those cliche romance novels, always thought it didn't exist, but I swear I felt all that as I stared at our hands. I blushed again at my stupid thoughts, he's your teacher for crying out loud.
"I promised I'd take care of you and I'm not going back on my word. You're like a little sister to me now and I want to take care of you" he said and most of the butterflies died down at being referred to as a little sister, I don't know why.
"You can tell me anything" he finished looking straight into my eyes. I was going to say something when there was a knock at the door. Damon looked mildly irritated as he stood up to answer it.
"Damon" the person at the door said, Damon's huge frame was blocking my view so I couldn't see who it was. "Dad" Damon responded, his voice cold and steely. That was a very fast change in mood, he sounded like he didn't want to be here right now.
Looks like this is the person he's meeting up with. I was going to sneak into the bedroom like Damon and I had agreed.
"Excuse me dear won't you be joining us for dinner" the same voice at the door said right behind me.
Shit
I turned around to see a man who looked a lot like Damon, well he did call him Dad. His green eyes staring down at me and a polite smile on his lips. I looked behind him to find Damon glaring murderously at his back.
I didn't know what to say, Damon looked like he wanted me far away from his dad but it would also be rude to not accept.
"Yes sir" I replied smiling shyly. His phone rang and he excused himself to go answer it. I looked back to Damon to find him giving me a look of pity.
It was just dinner with my history teacher and his dad.
What could possibly go wrong?
