Taylor's POV
"TAYLOR" Jess yelled making me jump and a few customers look over at me. I looked away blushing, hoping they would look away and not think I'm crazy. "What?" I asked Jess who stared at me weirdly. Why was she staring at me like that? She was the one who yelled.
"I said your name like five times" she exclaimed, "everything okay?" she asked looking worriedly at me now. "yeah, everything's alright I just spaced out" I said, "do you need something?" I asked.
"Could you please attend to table three?" she asked and I nodded moving away from the register but Jess stopped me tugging at my elbow. "You sure everything is alright, you've been spacing out all week" she said still staring at me with that worried look written all over her face.
I simply nodded and went to attend to table three. Jess is right though. I have been spacing out all week.
Why?
All because of Damon.
All because of our kiss.
To say things have been awkward between us after that would be an understatement.
What happened that night played in my head. It was so embarrassing.
*****
This was going to happen.
His lips were dangerously close and all I wanted to do was lean in and feel his lips on mine which was exactly what I did. Damon's lips felt very soft on mine and sent tingles flying all over my body. My stomach was full of butterflies, a really good feeling I thought only existed in books but that lasted for only a second.
He pulled away from me and his arms fell away from my back. I opened my eyes to see that his eyes were closed as he took in a huge breath and soon I was staring into sad and confused green eyes.
"Taylor look I..." he didn't get to complete his sentence. I jumped off his lap almost tripping on my feet. "I'm so sorry, gosh this is so embarrassing. Can you please forget that ever happened like ever? I am so so so so sorry" I ranted while trying to get as far away from him as possible.
"Taylor" he tried to stop me but I was too busy trying to flee from him, I didn't even notice the couch. "Ouch" I yelled when I stubbed my toe. "Are you okay?" Damon asked standing up and trying to come close to me. "No no no, I'm fine don't worry I'm fine. Good night" I yelled ignoring the pain in my toe and finally slipped into my bedroom.
What the hell was that?

Things have been so awkward between us after that, especially this morning.
I turned around after getting milk from the fridge only to find Damon standing right behind me. He tried to get me to eat breakfast with him but I dropped the bottle of milk, picked up my bag and ran out despite him yelling for me to stop.
It's been like that for a week now. I couldn't last two seconds in the same room as him.
You kissed your teacher moron, your teacher. Why wouldn't things be awkward?
"See you tomorrow Jess" I said when the day was over, "see you tomorrow" she said and I left the café. I headed to the apartment hoping and praying that he would not be there. Realizing what just went through my head I groaned out loud causing a few people to stare at me. I hurriedly walked away to avoid their stares.
What the hell?
Why can't I seem to stop thinking about him?
Why am I always thinking about our kiss?
A kiss that lasted for only a second, literally a second. It still felt great even though it only lasted a short while, but I also could not forget the look on his face. It was one of regret and confusion and I just couldn't get it out of my head.
I headed to the elevators once I got into the apartment building. "What's going on?" I asked the woman who kept pushing the elevator button. "The elevator seems to be stuck" she said still pushing the button.
I do not want to take the stairs. It is way too long.
"Hey, Mr Blake, Excuse me, could you help us out?" I called to the head of security who just happened to be walking by. "The elevator's stuck" I said gesturing to it. We took a step back waiting for him to do something about it. He got out his keys and soon the elevator was moving again.
The doors opened and we were all surprised to see a little boy who looked no more than five years old with a duffel bag in one hand, and the other clutching a brown teddy bear and a piece of paper.
"I'm looking for my daddy" he said staring at us and the grip on his teddy got tighter. "Who's your daddy" Mr Blake asked squatting down to his level. The little boy stretched out his hand giving him the piece of paper. I leaned forward a bit so I could read the letter too.
DAMON KNIGHT THIS IS YOUR SON.
