"I should just go home." Amara whispered to herself with a sigh as she wiped herself down trying to get rid of all the food that was on her. She looked up at herself in the mirror only to notice that she had barely gotten any of it out.
Amara let out a sigh as she placed the napkin on her dresser. It was times like this that made her miss home so much. If she were back home in her country, she would not have to deal with snooty nosed kids who were hell bent on making her life hell.
She had tried so hard to ignore them; tried so hard to be the bigger person but it just wasn't working. She didn't understand how people could be so rude and heartless. What had she ever done to them that they deemed it right to treat her this way?
Amara's eyes watered as she took in her reflection again. She was covered in food from head to toe. Today had been worse than any other day. She had stepped into the cafeteria for lunch only to be assaulted by them. They threw all kinds of food at her and when they were done, she looked up to find them all laughing at her. It was totally unexpected and all she could do was stare in shock.
"You don't belong here. Just crawl back to that street you call a country and never come back." Sabrina, her tormentor whispered coming up to her. She laughed at her own joke and then dumped her cup of coke all over Amara making the whole cafeteria roar in laughter once again.
Amara stared around the cafeteria, watching all the laughing faces. Her eyes fell on each member of the popular five, the royalty of Brook high and also her house mates. They were all laughing along with the student body. All of them except Roman who just stared at her.
Even in her condition and with everyone laughing at her, Amara could not help but feel embarrassed that Roman, one of the popular five and the guy she may or may not have a crush on saw her in such a condition. But that embarrassed feeling did not last very long. Although he wasn't laughing like everyone else, he didn't do anything to help her either.
So, with the little dignity she had left, she walked out of the cafeteria and went straight back to her room in the popular five's house which also happened to be her house.
Amara thought about just giving up and going back home. She was tired of it all and that was what they wanted, wasn't it? She would go back home, they would be happy that she was gone, she would be happy back home with her family and everyone would be happy. But, that wasn't her. She wasn't the kind of person to just quit.
No, that wasn't her.
She would not let them make her that person.
She had a reason for being here and she was going to achieve that regardless of all the fools that tried to make it impossible.
"No, hell no." She whispered to herself and despite being covered in food, she smiled. She smiled that kind of smile that told you it would be really hard to get her to break.
"If they want trouble, they are finally going to get it."
