I heard everyone calling her name while I adjusted her weight on my body trying to get a better glance at her face only to find her eyes shut close. I couldn't help but realise how light she is. "Amyra? Amyra?" Dhrithi and Sreesha called her as both of them started checking her pulse and tapped her cheek to get her to consciousness. "Tanya, ask my driver to get the car ready and somebody go get the wheelchair!" I instructed. I gulped seeing her state. Will she be okay? I picked her up as I saw Tarun rush in with the wheelchair. I dismissed the attendant who had by now come in to take her down as I told him I'll do it myself. Once I wheeled her out of the meeting room, I found everyone gathered around trying to watch the show and it irked me. "Get back to work!" I tried not to shout but I know my voice came out loud and harsh. "Dhrithi?" I called out for her and I saw her grabbing her bag and running towards me. I carefully supported her head with my one hand while I used the other to wheel the chair to the elevator.
"I would require one of you to fill the form for the patient" One of the nurse informed as she approached us. "I'll go" Dhrithi volunteered and I nodded. I waited for the doctor to open the door and Dhrithi to come back. I was quite used to this situation with Ammi, rushing to the hospital, cluelessly waiting for the doctor to confirm she's going to be fine. But this I think, feels equally nerve-racking. And I believe it shouldn't. Ugh! I didn't know what to do or think. My thoughts were broken as I hear the door of the observation room open and a middle aged nurse stepped out. "Excuse me nurse, is she alright?" I asked her. "Calm down son! In fact it's time to celebrate you are going to be a father!" She exclaimed leaving me bewildered. What the actually-?! What is happening? How the hell am I going to be a father?! "Did they open the door?" I could hear Dhrithi's voice but I was too confused to say or do anything. "Ayaan?" Dhrithi's annoyed voice called me again bringing me back to this world. "Did they open the door? Did they say something?" She asked. "She said I'm going to be a father. How the hell-oh she must have mistaken-" "Oh my god!" Dhrithi stopped my senseless blabber. "She is pregnant!" She exclaimed, horrified. "Oh!" Was all I could say. I'm not really sure what I'm feeling right now. "She can't be pregnant! God, please don't do this to her!!" She panicked as she rubbed her hands over her face. Coming back to my senses, my mind connected dots. "Dhrithi, did he..." I couldn't complete the question for the fear of it being true. She hesitantly nodded making me gulp. That bastard! "Are you Mrs Amyra's family? The doctor wants to meet you" A nurse asked as she opened the door.
